My Airport connection seems more reliable. -1st generation MacBook Pro
I am experiencing unprecedented levels of Snappiness™ in the new Safari
My update was only 178MB, on Apple's website it says its 274MB. Anybody else get that?
What computer do you have? And OS Version (just checking)?
Same here, I run a iMac G5 20". Install went smoothly and everything runs fine so far. It was interesting to note that this OS upgrade was considerably smaller than the last iPhone 3.01 update.
Late 2007 White MacBook, also 178mb.
updated G5 tower, IMAC 24" intel and MacBook Pro. large update on the macbook pro 276mb I think, others were 165mb.
no problems......
Life is good
guys im having an issue, i tried to install on my 2.26 13 inch MBP n it wont let me
help if u can. ps i tried downloading iand instaling wif nothing running and with nd without the power cable
It seems to have affected your keyboard as well.
After I installed 10.5.8 through software update, every time I restart my iMac, my screen resets to full brightness. is anyone experiencing this issue? I did a reset of P-RAM but that didn't work either. Please help me. :(
Same here: anyone any thoughts on this? I have an LG 22" screen attached to the iMac 24", ut not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I guess the size depends on which Mac you have and how long it has been since you made you last update. Mine's on 165MB
Safari doesn't suck anymore nor does my WiFi connections.
System-updates are ONLY done with the Combo-Updater on my machines. That avoided some trouble several times before. This time 10.5.8 Combo updates come bombing in with 759MB! Wow.
I always use combo updates, but even so, I'm waiting a couple days to update to this, make sure everything is good.
Particularly internet connection and wi-fi, 10.5.7 screwed me over.
iDisk finally works worth a damn in Finder! Before, it has always been faster to open a web browser and log into MobileMe to access the iDisk than to simply click the icon in the Finder, but not anymore. It's about time!
Hey! My iDisk-icoon is blue! Fits nicely with the iPhone App.
now when you press the eject button on the keyboard, the eject symbol only shows up on the screen if it is actually ejecting something. and spotlight was extremely slow and freezy the first few days. now it's better.
I've run the update now my computer will not start up, I've done disk repair but with no avail.
In a similar way after attemoted down load of updates on a MacAir it will not start up. Suggestions?
After down loading updates to a MacAir it will not start similar to the previous comment - Won't boot
After installing in Macbook Pro, it will not boot up.
I've updated my 20" intel core duo (2.16 GHz, 1 GB Ram) this weekend to 10.5.8.
Everything seems to work fine.
The only thing is:
Two days ago I shut the iMac down. So, black screen, little lamp is of and I'm thinking the unit is switched of.
This morning I got out of bed, into the livingroom where the iMac is used.
To my surprise i heard the fan spin (very low noise, that's why I didn't hear it in the evening)
It turns out, there stille is a part of my computer "running". Thought I might have used the sleep-mode, but this morning it was the same.
So the machine switches of, I even can hear the CLICK of the relais, but still there is a part that is still running. This scares me, as I do not want electrical units to be "half" on.
Now I unplug the computer from the mains-outlet everytime I shut it down, but still...
Anyone else got the same problem?
Greetings from Holland!
Yesterday I applied the 2009-04 security update and now the iMac shuts down perfectly...
Problem solved!
