Apple Store homepage updated with Father’s Day Promo and new squarer, cleaner look

The Apple Store was briefly down as Apple updated the homepage with a special Father’s Day gift promotion and updated the page to a new squarer & cleaner look – more possible evidence of Jony Ive’s growing design influence …

The page leads with the iPad and iPad Mini, highlighting the free engraving option, as well as suggesting a range of alternative gift suggestions ranging from the $79.95 iGrill cooking thermometer to $399.95 GoPro HD Hero 3 Black. The homepage has a link to shipping deadlines for a range of products to reach buyers in time for Father’s Day on June 16th.

The redesign has replaced rounded corners with square ones, more of a tiled look, squarer buttons and a less-cluttered layout – though it’s unclear how much of the latter is a temporary change for the promotion.
