Case-Mate’s iPhone 5C designs ‘evleak’ out, including September 20th ship date

5c1

Update: A bunch more cases have been added below.

Evleaks, a source with an excellent reputation for reliability, has tweeted two photos of aftermarket iPhone 5C cases, together with a very specific shipping date: 8am on 20th September.

It’s widely expected that Apple will announce the 5C (along with the iPhone 5S) on 10th September, and that it will go on sale on the 20th. Both T-Mobile and Verizon have blocked employee vacations around this date.

The photos as posted were rather small – we’ve enlarged them to give a better look …

The phones showed in the photos are consistent with everything we’ve seen (and believed) so far. Of course, Case Mate has no better idea than anyone else of the official sale date of the phone, but the phone photos are likely the real deal.

The slight pixellation comes from enlarging the photos: the originals are below.

Photos claiming to show iPhone 5C packaging with matched wallpaper were posted a couple of days ago, and there are now a whole bunch of 5C cases around …

Hey this phone, especially it being white, looks pretty damn snazzy. But I’m gonna wait this generation out for the big iPhone 6. Looks nice Apple. Still think this should only be released in China.

What kind of crap is this? Just China? Because why? Congratulate yourself on posting the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

      • hat high-quality approach worked in the U.S. and the rest of the world. In China, by comparison, price is a big issue. Phones aren’t often subsidized by wireless carriers in China like they are in the United States, and that puts a top-shelf device like the iPhone outside the price range of many Chinese consumers.
“Apple offers very high-end, high-priced devices,” said BGC Partners analyst Colin Gillis. “But in China, Apple needs to address the marketplace. The obvious step one is creating a product that people can buy. Apple hasn’t done that yet.” Now get the “why China” ????

Gonna have to second the thought of a China only release being silly. I’m not above thinking the phone was designed with China in mind, but a china only phone would be silly.

      • The problem I have with this entire venture is what’s the incentive for the “premium” iPhone if there’s a cheaper version available?

One has to assume that Apple will gimp the phone on purpose so that premium remains as such. But what features do they drop and what features will thrifty buyers feel they can do without?

Developers create apps based on the lowest common denominator. If there are key features missing in the iPhone 5C then developers won’t bother including features that can only be found in the premium version.

I usually give Apple the benefit of the doubt but I have this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that this is the worst idea Apple’s had in a long and a lot more damaging to recover from. Screwing up a service like Ping is one thing. Trying to backpedal from a failed attempt to capture a market with a cheap product is another.

They are going to make the same mistakes every company makes throughout history. They will compete with all the others until they have a shitty product, like dell, hp, old apple, etc.

If they sell this along side the 5S in the western world, this will mark the fall of Apple. You can count on it.

I think it is a fine looking phone. Of course, it all depends on how well it feels and looks in person. Regardless, I have another year on contract, so I’ll be holding off until next fall.

Not really that big of a deal, we all know a new phone coming out so we already know they would make cases for it.
I do like how they have the bumper wrapped with outer shell, makes for interchangable colors, personally I like having a whole different case/style in a different color rather then just one look one color.
I don’t think these(iPhone 5C) are china only either, too much missing money if it was so.

Soooo we’re back to white faces? I’m just not sure what to think. I like the white, a lot more than the black faced iPhone 5Cs we’ve been seeing. Anyone actually think you’d have an option? That’d be a lot of combinations if so. I doubt Apple would provide all the body color options to then have a face color option. The apples on the back of the 5Cs have been black right? With 9to5 saying these photos of the phone are likely legit it makes wonder. And hope…..that they’re actually coming with white faces?!

It’s official! The new iphone is insanely boring!

  6. Mr. Grey (@mister_grey) - 11 years ago

What kind of an idiot is going to use a plastic case to protect a plastic phone?

Also, they got the images all wrong as the front of the iPhone 5c is *black*, not white.
