Apple releases redesigned Podcasts, Find my iPhone, and iTunes Trailers apps (Update: Keynote Remote now free, not updated)

Along with updates to iWork and iLife today, Apple has overhauled their Podcasts, Find my iPhone, and iTunes Trailers apps to fall in line with the design paradigms of iOS 7. Along with new icons, all three apps have been completely redesigned, with user interfaces that closely resemble Apple’s other iOS 7 apps. While Find my iPhone and iTunes Trailers don’t include new features, Podcasts has received updates to the search tab, Top Charts section, and more. Here’s what the new icons for all three apps look like:

In keeping with today’s theme of “free!” Apple has also set Keynote Remote for iPhone as a free app, though they still haven’t updated it to support the four-inch display on the iPhone 5.

  1. Still no iBooks update. Kind of surprised by that since the new ‘flat’ icon leaked about a month ago.

what about that F#$@ ugly find my friend app?!

    • Andy Brooks - 10 years ago

they just need to drop that one completely. I can’t imagine anyone outside of a disneyland park would want to use that.

      • lycius84 - 10 years ago

Really? Cuz I haven’t had an issue using it nor my wife or my mom. It is a very useful app.

      • Paul Lloyd Johnson - 10 years ago

Just because you don’t use it, doesn’t mean other people don’t. It’s extremely useful, especially if you have a lot of family and friends with iPhones and iPads.

No guys, they haven’t forgotten about iBooks, Remote and iTunes U. Apple will probably release new versions of those apps in the next few days…but I’m not 100% sure that they will…

  6. What about keynote remote? I paid for that shit, and it doesnt even have iphone 5 support :@

Why does the trailer icon still have the gloss overlay?

    • lycius84 - 10 years ago

I updated mine and it doesn’t have the gloss. Not sure why it’s on this post.

  9. George (@Antsman41) - 10 years ago

Why do they keep making everything uglier? #whiteinterface

    Come on Remote app!!!!!

Podcast app looks and feels 100% better than the last version. Easy to adjust the settings, plays just like the music app. My only complaint continues to be how Apple treats landscape mode for playing audio – the music app shows a bunch of thumbnails from albums that aren’t even the one currently playing, and the podcast app just keeps you in portrait mode but turned on its side.

    I would think there’d be a more elegant solution…
