Beyoncé serenades fan over FaceTime during performance [Video]

Despite rapper Jay-Z having been temporarily in bed with Samsung earlier this year, Beyoncé proved herself the better half of the relationship when she voluntarily serenaded a fan over FaceTime at a concert in South Australia recently.

Beyoncé smoothly walked across the stage reaching out to her adoring fans when someone offered their iPhone in mid-FaceTime call.

“This is a first,” she said while taking the iPhone and still performing her song. “Hi. He’s doing FaceTime right now. Nice to meet you.”

What’s most impressive is the artist mentioned the Apple video calling technology by name, something that shows that it has entered into the mainstream vernacular.

That’s the most genuine of celebrity endorsements and evidence of Apple’s presence in culture. You know, making technology cool.

Meanwhile in Melbourne, Beyoncé proves herself a master of the iPhone photo bomb.

Wow. Yet another piss-poor article by the same guy, trying to turn an offhand celebrity action into “proof” that Apple is superior. (This is an Apple site. You don’t need to “prove” anything to anyone here. Articles like this just make you, and therefore us, look desperate, as if we are on the losing side of some battle, which I would wager we aren’t)

How does a celebrity’s interaction with a piece of tech make her the “better half of the relationship”? If you have really gotten to the point where you think that endorsing Apple makes you “good”, and endorsing something not-Apple makes you “bad” (assumed negative wording because of the wording given to Jay-Z “having been temporarily in bed with Samsung”), you need to seriously reevaluate your criteria for judgement.

Saying that this is “something that shows that [Apple] has entered into the mainstream vernacular” and “evidence of Apple’s presence in culture” is just plain dumb. Of course Apple has entered into the mainstream vernacular. Of course it has presence in culture. It did that on the day the iPhone released, and more specifically to this article, the day FaceTime released. This certainly isn’t the first time some celebrity has said “iPhone” or “FaceTime”.

Finally, this. “You know, making technology cool.” I don’t even know what to say to this.

Once again, tabloid-quality blogging once again. When are you going to start writing about “Apple Intelligence” instead of “5 pictures of celebrities who have touched an iPhone!”

I will say.. that is the most ugly outfit .. yuck! rofl! Not a huge fan of hers.. obviously appeals to younger generations though..

Other actors/singers would have gotten upset over something like FaceTime, claiming they were stealing from them a ticket seat or something.. Kewl she just went with it.

Lol! Concert outfits for females are really the weirdest in the world. Don’t worry.

  3. As an interesting side-note here, if you check the comments on the video on YouTube, Beyonce’s ‘Verified’ YouTube account commented “FaceTime!” Interesting that they actually dug up a video submitted by some random user, and proceeded to comment with just the name of the application…
