After releasing iOS 7.0.5 at the end of last month to fix network errors for Chinese users, Apple has just released iOS 7.0.6 (Build 11B651) alongside iOS 6.1.6 (build 10b500) for the iPhone 3GS and 4th-gen iPod touch and Apple TV version 6.0.2 with a security fix related to SSL connection verification.

Apple says iOS 7.0.6 is a security update that “provides a fix for SSL connection verification.” The update for Apple TV (version 6.0.2) and iOS 6.1.6 for older devices offer the same fix. The updates should be available to all supported iPhones, iPads, iPods and Apple TVs as over-the-air updates any minute.

Hoping iOS 7.1 beta 6 lands too.

  2. is this another Chinese only iOS update?

The update you’re referring to was never “chinese only”. As far as I know, everyone except Americans got it. I sure did, unlocked 5S in Finland.

  3. never mind just showed up on my 5S

Whilst vulnerability fixes are vitally important, why are Apple not fixing the Safari and Springboard bugs.

My 5s’ springboard bounces more than an elastic band ball on a trampoline on a bouncy castle.

This is for everyone. I just installed it on my 5S and iPad mini. Its pretty important too, since there are many SSL connections on an iDevice that people aren’t even aware of.

This SSL issue is probably related to apps like Pandora logging out repeatedly, rather than saving the session sign on. Thoughts?

Anyone having a problem with AirPlay after updating to iOS 7.0.6? My iPhone and iPads don’t recognize my Apple TV or AirPlay speakers after this update. Yes, they are all on the same wireless network.

Yeah, Air play is super buggy after updating to 7.0.6., it will just straight up disappear during use, stop all air play activity, the only way to work around this is to restart the phone. Apple products suck

Yeahh … try 5-10 time connect – disconnect – connect – disconnect, and your iDevice running slowly, never seen like this at iOS 6.

Did Apple bother to fix the GPS functionality they stole from 3GS while they were at it??

They should fix airplay iOS 7. Try connect and disconnect (5-10 times) and watch the problem, your iDevice run slowly.
