Gold iPhone 6 dummy shown alongside Space Gray and Silver in new photos

goldfront

Another day, another dummy. We’ve recently obtained new images showing what appears to be a gold iPhone 6 mockup pictured next to the other two color variations that Apple currently offers. As mentioned, this is definitely a dummy model, but it’s also the first time we’ve seen a gold one.

The camera cutout on the lighter colored models look a little but strange, but again these are dummy units and we don’t expect them to perfectly reflect the actual design. Along with that, the Space Gray and Silver models seem to have a gold Touch ID ring which is also a bit out of place. Either way, they are definitely fun to look at. Rumors suggest that Apple’s iPhone 6 will feature a 4.7-inch display and possibly a 5.5-inch variation, borrow design characteristics from the fifth generation iPod touch, and feature resigned buttons. At this point, we’ve seen just about every rumored render, mockup, and schematic relating to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6.

These images are consistent with previous rumors, but we won’t know what Apple’s official design will look like until later this year. It’s likely that these models were created based on rumored schematics and specifications, but the design does match up with previous photos.

Looks very cheap, must be a fake one.

Glad these are just mock ups and not the actual thing..space gray with a gold bezel looks terrible.

Too mutch bezel on the sides and the back antennalines looks terrible :(

Agreed, it’s truly an embarrassment if these larger devices are released with virtually the same bezels. One of the primary things they should have been waiting for in order to release a larger screen, would be reducing the bezel size.

I’m so glad that you continue to have no idea what you’re talking about at all. Please refrain from weighing in on what is an “embarrassment” for Apple, as it makes you look unimaginably stupid.

PMZ I’ve read your comments here, and in fact, all I needed to know to appreciate how stupid you are, was your comment in response to mine, regarding the current nutritional health crisis. Thanks for being another idiotic person that posts their opinions, you’re what make them enjoyable.

My god, this is agains Apple, really really ugly. And no bezel free… Come on…

Like the gold, but I think apple will stick with the current antenna design, leave the windows white with middle gold

  6. I think I’m okay with this direction, if legitimate. However I don’t like the white or black ‘outlines’ or bands that you see on the back. I’d prefer it to be all metal

    so no more dual-color-flash? o.0

    • o0smoothies0o - 10 years ago

I can’t for the life of me understand why every single person has to think this. Can’t you for a second assume that Apple figured out how to implement this without the pillshape?

    • PMZanetti - 10 years ago

Yep you’re right, they took a step back with the Flash! Evidenced by the smaller hole!

It couldn’t be that they figured out something better with a smaller hole for it………………..

As you all know, a LED can produce more than one color. They can produce as well more and more lumens. So you really don’t need 2 LEDS, to have the same variety of warmth in color or amount of light. I go for one LED in the new iPhone.

Clearly these aren’t the real thing. It almost looks like paint strips on the back and in some spots it’s chipping off. If the final Apple product looks like this I will sell my stock.

  9. Not so sure about that all Gold one. Was going to take a serious look at that one when we see what they finally look like. Reading all these comments are pure entertainment. Bunch of sarcasm, love it!

    iPhone 6C?

I’ve never been a supporting fan of the idea of a gold phone… it looks cheap and tachy – i dont know why apple decided on this color for the iphone 5S and they should drop the color for iphone 6 – Apple needs to be young and fresh – when the colored ipod touches came out i was impressed…in fact my comment was, “i wish my iphone was in that shiney metalic blue”… but alas, the closest i got was the plastic blue phone.

For me, the silver is outdate and common… the space grau is just dull… and the gold reminds me of something a gang member would buy to go with all the other gold bling

  12. Disgusting!!………….look at the back antennas …..ugliest iphone ever built….

    • Jens Jorgensen - 10 years ago

I’ve been thinking about the ugly back issue a bit.

I believe that the thick “antenna lines” are there to show the case manufacturers where they cannot place any metal in a case design in order that the case does not cause signal loss. This is similar to the current 5s design where they hide the antennas in those areas. The “curved glass” may be referring to two pieces of glass on the top and bottom of the back of the phone. With the newly curved design, these top and bottom glass sections will need to be curved to match the shape of the back and inset to make them flush. In the end, I suspect the final iPhone 6 will look much like a rounded version of the current 5s design.

I’ve made a rough mockup of what this may look like. Take a looksy:
