Mark Gurman | 8:07 We are just under two hours away from the kickoff WWDC keynote, and here’s the latest news: there are cars situated inside Moscone West. This likely indicates that some significant CarPlay announcements are in-store for today. Also, some OS X 10.10 and iOS 8 APIs for developers are already appearing on some open source WebKit files.

We’re approximately two hours away from Apple’s major WWDC 2014 keynote address, and we’ll be providing live blogging and analysis of the event as it proceeds. We’re expecting Apple to discuss updates to iOS and OS X 10.10, with the former seeing enhancements across the system and the latter receiving a complete redesign to bring the software in line with the iOS 7 design aesthetic. You can catch our full analysis and live updates from the conference below:

Please, what devices iOS 8 will support? That slide came fast, I wasn’t looking.

  19. golfersal - 10 years ago

I am sorry but that is it??? We havn’t seen anything released from Apple since like last September, they spent two hours telling us about updates to the software. In my mind their are some nice feathers but the only one that sticks out is being able to use my phone on my computer or Ipad, will use that a lot.

But very disappointed at the lack of anything of real substance. All of these updates they talked about aren’t coming out until October so frankly we are going almost a year without anything new or different from Apple. is the one in whichI can receive and make Iphone calls today Again the stuff that they showed us is ok but nothing to really knock you off your feet as being a break through item.

Maybe Apple is losing it’s touch on . There hasn’t been a knockout product since before Steve Jobs died.

    • Marco Brandão - 10 years ago

Tell me, is there any other software company that can keep pace with Apple does in a year period? The answer is a big NO.
Who cares if one has to wait one year to use that much innovation?
The timeframe Apple gives to developers is right, until the release many apps will be ready to incorporate the new features. That is the key to a successful and growing platform.

      • golfersal - 10 years ago

Apple is just rereleasing the same software. They are making small changes and improvements to their core items like to mail, notifications, Safari and such. They are coming up with an OS update but if you look at some of these programs from three, four years ago they basically do the same thing.
One thing that I see changing at Apple since the death of Steve Jobs they aren’t spending the same R&D money on new things like IWatch, ITV or even on their core iPod business which hasn’t had an update in a bit. (checked they updated the processor last year on touch, but the core of the iPod touch hasn’t changed in years).
I see Apple is more involved in being the middle man while others develop things and Apple can collect 30%. That’s why this week is so important for Apple, the success of these developers bring big cash (touch of 30%) to Apple, easy money.
Hardware wise I bought the new MacbookPro (it’s great) in August of 2012 two months after it’s release so I am set for another year or two. I do need a new monitor but it doesn’t look like Apple is ever going to come up with a new one.
All I am saying is that I expected a lot more today and will wait the three months for the new iPhone announcement.

  21. When do you think the iOS beta precisely will get available for downloading?

  22. Marco Brandão - 10 years ago

Here is the link to download The Swift Programming Language at the iBookstore.
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/the-swift-programming-language/id881256329?mt=11

  23. Cannot wait for CloudKit and for Swift. Will make developing so much faster! As an indie dev who does this at night making PaperBox, the best free iPhone app to get organized (gopaperbox.com), every second is critical. Currently we use Dropbox for auth and storage – gotta imagine Cloudkit makes this both easier and more accessible. Way more iCloud users than Dropbox users. Beyond that, if the services can be accessed outside of cocoa, like via REST, then it is game-on and they’ve created a huge backend-as-a-service environment. I’m more excited about CloudKit then anything in the keynote!
