A year after being announced, you can now get a Mac Pro within 24 hours

While you still may not be able to walk in to an Apple Store and expect to walk out with a 2013 Mac Pro, the $3,000 and $4,000 base models of Apple’s professional desktop are shipping within 24 hours of ordering for the first time since its launch in late December last year. This includes shipping to Apple Retail Store locations for pickup. Apple, of course, previewed the latest Mac Pro model at WWDC 2013, exactly one year from yesterday, but it only promised then that it would begin shipping later that year. Availability has since proven to be a challenge for the ‘assembled-in-USA’ Mac line…

Last week, after Tim Cook helped deliver the WWDC keynote at Moscone West in San Francisco where the company previewed OS X Yosemite, iOS 8, and a plethora of new developer tools, the Apple CEO joined SVP of Internet and Software Services Eddy Cue to visit Apple’s properties in Austin, Texas.

This includes Apple’s local campus there as well as Apple’s AppleCare tech support offices and even the assembly plant where the Mac Pro is put together.

Apple’s 2013 Mac Pro model first went on sale to the public on December 19, 2013.

Costco in UK has them for sale. I was stunned to be able to see them first hand. The cylinder looks great.

Are lots of people actually buying this Mac Pro or is it that they’re difficult to make. There’s never been any hint at production numbers.
