The Sony- Universal-produced Steve Jobs biopic starring Michael Fassbender has finally started filming after what seemed like an endless array of cast and crew changes. CNET spotted production crews setting up at the Los Altos childhood home of Steve Jobs earlier today.

As was revealed last year, the movie, written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by Danny Boyle, will likely feature only a handful of locations, including the former Jobs home garage. While Fassbender is set to play Jobs, several other cast members have been tapped to portray other prominent individuals in the executive’s life.

Seth Rogen is set to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, while Jeff Daniels is said to be taking on the role of former Apple CEO John Sculley. Jobs’ daughter Lisa will be played by Perla Haney-Jardine, and Michael Stuhlbarg will play Macintosh engineer Andy Hertzfeld.

The movie will reportedly consist of three real-time scenes, each about half an hour long, following Steve Jobs just before a major product announcement, though that may no longer be the case, as we doubt Jobs was hanging out in his garage just before any given keynote.

Wonder if Steve Jobs would really appreciate a “Hollywood” movie about him.

I refuse to watch any Steve Jobs movie that doesn’t star Christian Bale.

Wish my garage door opened like that…

Easy money for tons of people. SJ probably would hate such a mov(i)e but “he’s been dead, mate, dontcha know?” kind of arguments are pretty well enough for Hollywood.
