Impatient to get your hands on an iPad Pro? Some stores have them in stock today …

While Apple had indicated earlier today that nobody would be getting their hands on an iPad Pro until Friday, it seems that some of you may be in luck and able to pick one up today.

When ordering through the app, AppAdvice noticed the pickup option allowed them to collect today from a number of Apple Stores. We’ve independently verified with Apple that this is isn’t a glitch – and they even have very limited numbers available today for walk-in purchases …

We’ve also learned that the packaging looks very similar to a MacBook.

We’re told that stocks are already low for some models, though, so we’d strongly recommend purchasing online or via the app rather than just hoping for the best when you reach a store. Stores also have limited stocks of the Smart Cover and Logitech keyboard.

Sadly the immediate pickup option appears to be limited to U.S. stores: when I placed my order and checked for pickup options, I could get the keyboard today but the iPad Pro wasn’t available until Friday – the same day Apple promises to deliver it.

I’m not expecting to keep mine: I just want to try it out for a week. Then again, I said the same thing about the Watch and look how that turned out. Keep an eye out for an iPad Pro diary series starting on Friday or Monday. In the meantime, check out our review roundup to see what others are saying so far.

“I’m not expecting to keep mine: I just want to try it out for a week. ”

This statement sounds like you are planning on abusing Apple’s return policy by temporarily exchanging money for a product.

When I buy anything, I plan on keeping it. If the product does not meet my expectations, I return it for a refund. But I never plan on returning something that I buy.

No abuse: the 14-day return policy exists for precisely this reason, to allow people to find out whether a product works for them.

You should already know if the product will work for you. You have also already said that you do not plan on keeping it. This is abuse.

Nope, I’ve said that I don’t *expect* to – the exact same thing I said about the Apple Watch.

    • Well aren’t you a good lil consumer!

Who cares if he wants to return it? Literally every company has a return policy, I don’t understand why you’re so offended by it.

REI has a ONE YEAR return policy, you can buy something and use use for a year and return it.

Apple’s policy is returning without having to give a specific reason within 14 days. You can totally tell the geniuses that you just don’t like it and want a full refund. This is ABSOLUTELY compliant with Apple’s policy. Get over with it dude. Don’t try to be the cyber policeman, because nobody gives a rat’s ass about what you said.

You are obviously in individual of poor character.

My store has them for pickup today too… Almost tempted to try out a gold 32GB one and at the end of the day if I still can’t really justify this expenditure I could return it hassle free.

You should decide before you buy it if the product is worth the price.

I just don’t get you dude. Open up your mind. Thought Radiohead wishes it were, fact is it’s not the 60s anymore.

When I went on-line – on the iPad, via the Apple Store App – I was able to order the 128 GB Space Gray with silicone back cover, front smart cover and AppleCare, with a Store pickup today. That helped to quell my annoyance at the late on-line store opening.

I was definitely good with that. Just waiting for the e-mail to come in and pick it up.

Just back from the Apple store and my iPad Pro is here! It’s seems HUGE.

      YMMV

Bummer. My locks stores have the 128GB one in silver and gold, but not space gray. Only the 32GB is available in space gray. Decisions decisions!
