Deliveries app ships a massive update w/ 3D Touch, iPad Pro support, El Capitan enhancements, more

Delveries by Junecloud has received major updates today for both their iOS and Mac applications. For the unitiated, Deliveries is an all-in-one package tracker for both iOS and Mac. Allowing the user to track multiple packages from various couriers, the app is perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to have to jump between different delivery company sites.

One of the best features that Junecloud brings to the Deliveries app is making sure both versions of the app have feature parity. Today’s iOS and Mac updates are no exception. Both now include full route (allowing you to see the path of the package’s travel), better package number detection when copying text from another app, and improved handling when a tracking number contains multiple packages. These additional features all make it significantly easier to get your package into the app to start tracking with no hassles.

The feature I’ve come to love most with Deliveries has been their integration of syncing. Today the iOS and Mac applications include complete iCloud syncing for faster and more efficient updates. Jumping between the iOS device and Mac should no longer show differences in package status or updates.

Breaking it down further, today’s iOS update includes visual tweaks throughout the application for better package detail clarity, Peek and Pop for 6s and the 6s Plus, Quick Actions from the Home screen, and even keyboard shortcuts for the iPad. With this latest update, Junecloud has done a great job bringing this app forward with iOS 9’s cutting-edge features. It’s now optimized for iPad Pro with full support for Split View and Slide Over, for example.

Deliveries for the Mac today also released a healthy lineup of updates including similar visual tweaks as the iOS app, using the trackpad to swipe to archive packages, and clipboard detection for copied tracking numbers. Junecloud also added some new security features which enforces using minimum security requirements when it connects to each package delivery service.

There are eve more new features to both apps, so check out the release notes for both versions for the full rundown.

Deliveries is available for $1.99 (normally $4.99) through the “Get Productive” sale in the iOS App Store and is compatible with iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches. Deliveries for the Mac is available in the Mac App Store for $4.99 and is compatible with Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11 and higher.

  1. Maps and route tracking are useless frills that won’t be accurate for anything but a fraction of one percent of deliveries, if that. Even if it worked for all of them, it’s not like you’re planning an armored car heist and need to intercept the driver along their route.

The only update that’s needed and have been needed for years, is the addition of more shipping carriers/providers and fixing the status/tracking for those that are in there now – some like PostNL haven’t worked since sometime last year.

I’ve been a user/customer since the product was first launched and being able to track more packages from so many global shippers has been my only wish.

The maps and route tracking has been accurate for me for every package I’ve ever used within the app. Whenever it it was not accurate, it was because the data the courier was feeding back was incorrect. For example, USPS was stating that a package had been in New York for the past week (and Deliveries showed New York in the map routing), but it was actually in Florida for a majority of the time. I had to call USPS to find that out though.

I’ve tracked packages from multiple international couriers and have yet to have a problem, so it’s interesting to hear that you are now. Have you reached out to Junecloud yet in regards to PostNL not working? I always wondered how many other international couriers I’ve never heard exist out there, and how many are missing from the app.

      • This is my point. The information you get from shipping companies isn’t fine-grained enough to make mapping worthwhile. Who care’s about seeing a dot on a map in the middle of a postal code instead of just reading “Rochester NY” or “Jaimaica New York (ISC)?”

and WRT PostNL and others, yes, I’ve contacted and even exchanged emails with Junecloud on multiple occasions. No response back about PostNL, previous communication was regarding Hong Kong Post and they were timely.

I like the app – the visual makes it fun to use. You are right, when you get right down to the nitty gritty all the information one needs is when will a package arrive. Heck, if you create an account the carriers they will send you text messages on the progress of a package. The app is just one more bit of information presented in a different way. You can’t fault the developer for adding content in a different way. Isn’t that what all users want [make it interesting]? If I am going to pay for something at least make it interesting. That is what the developer has done with this and other updates.

Are these delivery-watching apps worth it at all? I mean, I order things on Amazon quite a bit, and it always seemed like an extra hassle for me to have to manually add the order into the app for it to track it. It doesn’t seem remotely worth it to me. What am I missing?

I ship, and receive multiple packages from multiple carriers every week. I love being able to launch the app and quickly see the timeline of each package. The header image is a good example. Each color represents what courier the package is using, and then the number next to it is the courier ETA.

I didn’t think I would fall in love with it, mostly because it’s just a deliver-watching app, like you said. But the more I used it, the more useful it became.

    • For Amazon and amazon only, no not worth it. But if you are receiving a few packages from eBay sellers, others from other store, etc. then it’s nice to have.

I love this application and service, been using it since launch and love it on both Mac and iOS. Very easy to get into the habit of putting things into it and it’s useful to know when things are coming, especially for deliveries that need signatures. I disagree with Bruno, it’s extremely useful for Amazon Prime users and once you’re logged in as an Amazon user, entering deliveries is a snap and can be done with a few clicks (and no typing). Brilliant.

If you use JuneCloud sync, you can write an email rule to automatically forward any emails from “auto-confirm@amazon.com” to JuneCloud and it’ll automatically appear in the Deliveries app. I also order a lot of stuff from Amazon and this method works great. The dev also added in a bunch of Share sheet extensions and stuff so you can highlight a bunch of text, press Share, and Deliveries will pick out the tracking number from what you selected and add it. Makes it easier than switching back and forth between email/browser/app or something.

      • Greg Barbosa - 8 years ago

That email rule idea is great! I’ve never thought of that and it is quite amazing.

  3. Use the App a lot but would really like more carriers to choose from/supported

    • Greg Barbosa - 8 years ago

Any examples of other carriers you would like supported and feel is missing? I sometimes think the reason some may not exist is because pulling the data from the sites may not be as easy/possible. But not entirely sure because I don’t have experience with all the international carriers.

      • Hit one of the consolidated tracking web sites sometime to see the possibilities, like track-trace.com

  4. Love this app, use all three all the time. It’s always worked flawlessly for me and the developers are really receptive.

I have the free JuneCloud Delivery Status widget. Are there any signficant advantages to the paid version? It would be nice to have packages tracked on my Mac and iPhone, but I don’t know that it’s worth shelling out cash for both versions when I have something now for free.

    • Greg Barbosa - 8 years ago

I also had the free widget for a long time, but upgraded to the iPhone and Mac versions. Because some of the packages I was tracking were business crucial, having the notifications helped me save a significant amount of guesswork and time dealing with customer orders.

      • uniquified - 8 years ago

The latest widget (6.2.1) does give me notifications on my Mac. As far as I know, the only big thing I am missing is iOS support and syncing between my devices.

      • The Widget syncs fine with iOS using Junecloud servers.

I love this app and have been using it for YEARS! Finally got iPad Pro support today too so it doesn’t look HUGE on the screen anymore! The 3D Touch on my 6S Plus is going to be great too. I order a lot of crap and put all of my deliveries in this app. The 3D Touch taking me right to the entry screen will be very welcomed.

  7. In addition to more carriers, my other big wish is for the ability to create folders into which to sort the deliveries. I both send AND receive a lot of packages, so I’d appreciate being able to track some of both while keeping them separate. Next would then be integration with the tracking sources so I don’t have to put anything manually into the app, so plugging into eBay and PayPal for instance, along with shipping software and sites like Endicia and Stamps.com
