Apple has just announced a price drop for Apple Watch, now starting at just $299 for 38 mm. For that price, it appears to come equipped with the new nylon bands. It’s unclear how other models in the range are impacted. Updating with more pricing information as they become available …

This represents a $50 price drop from the launch $349 price for Apple Watch. Note however, that Apple Watch has been seeing significant $100 discounts in many retail outlets for a while now. Still, this is a nice change for those who buy direct from Apple.com.

OK At that price I might consider it. Functionally, for me to get one it’s not there yet, but at least now the price is finally sane.

Must not live in the US. The watch has has seen a $100 price drop off and on since Black Friday 2015 at Target and Best Buy. Or maybe you’re one of those who only buy from the Apple Store.

They’ll probably up the price with $50 again for the Apple Watch 2

My wife just got me a refirb (why not) 42mm Sport for less than $270. I can’t imagine spending the prior $399 for the watch.

maybe apple watch 2 is coming this fall so they drop the price

    I believe one thing:
Apple Watch Sport should be $250
    Apple Watch should be $500
Apple Watch Edition should be $1000 and up
    Band should be:
    The nylon’s $50
    Leathers $100
    Metals $150
    And Gold well whatever

Then I will consider one day buying another one. I bought one last year and even tho I love it, I can’t justify the price tag for the watch and the accessories.

This is how you know they aren’t selling as well as they expected. All the doubters that said “you don’t know how many they sold” can see from Apple themselves that it’s not selling well.

They shipped 7 million units since launch… the closest rival in the sector is samsung who have sold 300,000 units. The price drop is tactical price setting for the next watch, they do it with every product line. completely unfounded comment.

      • 3rdngoal - 8 years ago

Apple has NEVER stated how many they have sold, however the price drop tells the story.

      • 3rdngoal - 8 years ago

And BTW, they never price drop when they aren’t releasing a newer version, are you new to Apple?

      • jedwards87 - 8 years ago

They did it with the original iPhone so the question 3rdngoal is are you new to Apple ?

      • 3rdngoal - 8 years ago

@jedwards – They discontinued one of the lesser models, and to offset forcing people into the 8GB model they dropped the price. Not the same thing as what we are talking about. Nice try though… So, no I’m not new to Apple.
