Best Buy iPhone SE & iPad Pro 9.7 deals: $50 gift card w/ SE, up to $350 off on Verizon

If you’re planning on picking up an iPhone SE or an iPad Pro 9.7-inch, here’s a look at promos Best Buy is offering at launch.

Deals include a $50 gift card with the iPhone SE, $300 off the LTE iPad Pro on Verizon, or $350 off both devices with activation on Verizon, as well as the usual trade-in offers. Here’s the rundown:

  • Trade in an old iPad (iPad 2 or newer), get a $100 gift card toward the new iPad Pro.
  • Get $300 off the LTE version of the new iPad Pro with a two-year activation on Verizon or $350 off with both an iPad Pro and any iPhone on a two-year plan with Verizon.
  • Get a $50 gift card with the purchase and activation of a new iPhone SE when enrolling in My Best Buy Mobile.

For that $50 gift card you’ll simply need to sign up to My Best Buy Mobile (a free service) with an email address when you purchase the device in stores or online. The Verizon and iPad deals are available in-store only, while you should be able to take advantage of all three now with preorders live in Best Buy’s retail locations and online. You can preorder the iPhone SE here or the iPad Pro 9.7-inch here

The new iPhone SE and iPad Pro 9.7-inch officially went up for preorder in the first wave of launch countries earlier this week on March 24. That’s ahead of a full launch and shipments of preorders beginning March 31st. Of course the carriers will be offering the device direct, and you’ll also find it through Apple online and in-stores as well as the other usual retail partners. The Best Buy deals, however, are the first we’ve seen of any kind of promo or discount for the new devices at launch.

Of course, the Verizon iPad doesn’t have the new embedded Apple SIM. They disabled the feature.

    • I doubt they did that this time or else the device could not be activated at all. This isn’t the shipping with Apple SIM situation where you have to order a Verizon SIM for activation. If it is the case, Verizon may be getting a completely different SKU that still has a SIM slot from other markets. Would Apple really go out of their way to manufacture or import a different device for Verizon?

So, if you sign up 2 year contract with Verizon, is data plan mandatory? Or is it okay if you make installment payments.

If data is mandatory, that’s a shit deal. Otherwise, not bad.

It’d be $429 + tax isn’t bad (iPad air 2 works pretty darn well)

Amazon has pretty good trade in deals. My 64 GB LTE Air 2 is quoted at $359

Not planning to trade in iPad Air 2. Just iPad Air 1. But I’ll look into it. Thanks!

I can’t find the $350 off deal. I only see the $50 off deal. Where is it?

  4. Still waiting for the cellular versions of the 9.7″ iPad Pro to be available for pre-order at Best Buy. The Wi-Fi versions are available for pre-order, but the cellular versions are “coming soon.”

Can you also sign up for My Best Buy Mobile with a T-Mobile number?
