Apple shares new ‘Frankie’s Holiday’ ad featuring iPhone-toting Frankenstein

Apple has a special message for the world going into the holiday season: “Open your heart to everyone.” That’s the tagline at the end of its new holiday commercial called “Frankie’s Holiday” which sees an iPhone-toting Frankenstein feeling a bit left out.

This year’s holiday ad limits product placement to a single iPhone 7 with Voice Memos being used to record a small music box. Ads in previous years have prominently included the whole family of Apple products.

Instead, “Frankie’s Holiday” shows the monster venturing into town where an alarmed crowd is treated to a performance from Frankenstein caroling over the music box recording … and the whole town joins in.

An unexpected holiday visitor finally receives the warm welcome he’s always yearned for.

Aside from the new holiday ad, Apple’s team is being festive in other areas starting this Thursday in the United States with the first-ever Thanksgiving Activity challenge for Apple Watch customers. Walk, run, or wheelchair a 5K (3.1 miles) on Thanksgiving Day and you will unlock a special achievement plus an iMessage sticker pack. Pokémon Go is similarly featuring a Thanksgiving-themed in-app event for the holidays.
