Minecraft ‘Apple TV Edition’ now available for tvOS with limited edition DLC

Back in October, Apple announced during its keynote that Minecraft would be coming to tvOS later this year. With about two weeks to spare, Minecraft Apple TV Edition has been released today for $19.99.

Minecraft Apple TV Edition is likely to be a popular release with Minecraft fans having extra time away from school and work during the holidays. Included with the paid download is a variety of limited edition DLC to customize your Minecraft experience and also includes the recent Ender Update. Here are more details from the press release.

If either of those are true, I bring good news! We’ve just released Minecraft for the slim black boxes. And, for a limited time, it comes with seven pieces of lovely DLC, giving you the chance to customise the fun to your liking. Minecraft: Apple TV Edition currently includes the Holiday 2015, Town Folk, and City Folk skin packs, along with the Plastic, Natural, Cartoon, and Festive 2016 mash-ups. It costs $19.99 and is rolling out in all regions as I type.

Apple TV Edition also includes the Ender Update. We’ve just posted about that on this very website!

For now, Minecraft Apple TV Edition will not support Realms or Xbox Live, but they are said to be coming with future updates.
