Apple trusts us already by allowing us to install OS as many times as we want, lets respect that and actually buy it!

Seems silly to torrent it when you can have the real deal in less then four days.

I can confirm that it hasn't been seeded to developers.... must be a leaked box from a retailer or something?

It's on usenet as well. I can download it in a couple of hours. I will do so, install it, enjoy it for the next four days, then dutifully go to the Apple Store this weekend and purchase a copy with my iPhone rebate.

Well, don't be too moralistic. Apple is not like a big, chubby ritch friend, that likes to cuddle and hug you. I thought so once, but their greedy iPhone strategies are showing the face behind. It's a company with a funny face on the outside a company that only aims for one thing - making money. Let's not forget about that.

I have the family pack on order from Amazon, so is there a reason I shouldn't use digital delivery?  Their free shipping seems to mean "not gonna ship until maybe 2 weeks later because otherwise you might get it quickly"

We've made so much money this last quarter that allowing rampant piracy on torrent sites will make little diference to our numbers next quarter.

Besides, with the options scam I pulled last year, I've personally got more money than I could ever spend.

I personally wouldn't pirate something I was going to use as my main operating system... besides, I can get it at a brilliant student discount.

I pre-ordered from Apple for the family pack. I chose the Standard Delivery. 1 day later, Apple upgraded it to Priority Overnight, no charge.

Folks who illegally download Leopard just encourage Apple to institute some draconian activation process like XP and Vista has.

That would really be a pain in the rear.

You can claim moral high ground all you want because you will supposedly buy a copy later, but we all know there will be plenty of people who will install it but not buy it.

Seriously- Apple not doing the activation thing just makes my switching that much more fullfilling.  I am buying my first mac on Friday!!!!!!  i buidl my own pcs, I am up on the latest hardware, and switching to mac feels good!!!!  It's just a beter operating system.  Support apple- buy leopard!

I am not going to buy leapord, I going to buy a new mac instead in a few months. I am so ready for a new mac, I still use a 867 G4 Quicksilver.... I am waiting for the next release of the mac pro... its going to be amazing.

The purchased copy is GUARANTEED to be complete, accurate, and the correct build number.

The operating system on a computer controls EVERYTHING and SHOULD be of first quality.

Hell, One thing im not gonna cheap out on is Leopard. BUY Leopard cheapos!

Honestly, I wouldn't download leopard. It just seems like a bad idea.
But I'm going to buy it a month from now... let them get all of the bugs out.

At $69 for students, staff, and faculty (and usually alumni), you should be able to order it from your college's bookstore.  Heck, I graduated a while ago from my university, Cornell, but can still order directly off of the store's website.  $69+tax+shipping=~$82 for a spiffy OS.  It doesn't get much better than that.  Do other schools offer their alumni reduced school store prices?

So, I can buy the single liscense copy and install it on two computers and have no issues at all?  Why even buy the Family Pack? 

I'm downloading it because I don't have $150 lying around.
