Job Description:
Write detailed copy of Garmin products for Garmin websites and interactive applications. Work with information architects, UI designers, IT developers and business owners to write user-friendly copy ranging from accurate, clear, concise screen instructions to engaging, interactive text. Act as liaison between the web team, IT and other departments to ensure consistent content, branding and a customer-friendly experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Write instructions to accompany online user processes, screen copy, transactional emails, error messages, online product tutorials, and other website content.
Team up with web and interactive designers to conceptualize and write copy for web pages, blogs, ministies, kiosks and more.
Write marketing copy for web pages, e-mail campaigns and more.
Work with web designers and business owners to identify content strategy, develop content for wireframes and write simple yet engaging copy for online and interactive applications.
Collaborate with IT developers to integrate copy with back-end functionality to enhance user-experience.
Be flexible and willing to adjust copy based on user testing and feedback to improve user-experience.
Be able to simplify complex and confusing instructions and requirements.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Remain current on the features and benefits of Garmin's complete line of productsEnter and maintain copy within content management systems.
Write copy to be translated for international versions of the Garmin website as needed.
Accept and complete projects and other duties as assigned by the manager.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field required.
At least 3 years professional writing experience in the areas of web copy writing.
Basic understanding of web user interface and design issues.
