iPod touch - Amazon discount on all models, camera hopes endure

We’re a little curious on this one, what with Apple’s warning that air freight costs are set to climb in this Holiday quarter (though could that be all those 8GB iPhone 3GS units flying in, hmm, hmm), but we’d feel pretty remiss if we didn’t let you know about this slight deal on a new 8GB iPod touch, which Amazon’s selling right now at 3 percent discount...

OK, alright, we know 3 percent isn’t much - it’s $6.05 off the usual $195 price - but it should at least get you something to eat in your favourite diner, or a few songs or video bits off of iTunes, but cash is cash, and there’s  a discount on the most popular iPod model available to you right now.

It’s not just the low cap model that’s discounted, either - the 32GB iteration costs $279.95 (normal price, $295, saving 5%, $15.05); and the 64GB model, well, that’s just going for a dollar discount....

For once, we won’t list the attributes of the device, we think most readers have an inkling of what an iPod touch does (and if you don’t, just zip across to here to find out a little more).

We’ve noted in the past that discounts on Apple products at Amazon sometimes predicate a new model shipping, but given Apple’s admonition not to expect any such thing, and given the slight value of the discount, we reckon Amazon’s simply trying to boost sales of the device.

However, we think there’s a lorra lorra potential customers holding off on iPod touch purchases, ‘cos they want it to carry a camera.

Right around 11pm MST the Mac STore went down? Maybe updating it for a new iTouch?
