iTunes App Store updated look and Feel...TomTom $49
Today, Apple updated the App Store layouts. Application pages now have a different look with bigger screenshots and icons. There are also wishlists and other changes. As an example take a look at the new TomTom US app which is incedentally $49 (half price) without Canadian maps. Left is the old page, Right is the new one (click to enlarge).

This doesn't affect me because I never use my computer to browse the app store. I browse and buy from the app store all through my iPod Touch. The interface of the app store on the iPhone/Touch is much more fluid and streamlined than through iTunes IMO.
It was a bit disconcerting when I first opened the app store. If you hadn't given me the heads up, I would have thought something was wrong with my computer or at least my browser.
I never like change. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
I liked the old way better. Now I have to click expand buttons to read details, and you can't un-expand them once you've done that, making more scrolling necessary. Annoying.
I like the new way that only the first part of the description is visible and you have to expand it because most descriptions of apps are a mile long with 3/4 mile of junky looking asterisked **NOTICE** stuff, mentions and reviews before I can get to the actual dang description of the app. Maybe this will make the developers put the actual description at the top.
It's just done so badly, so not thought through, so un-Apple...
- The app icon is much too big, which is completely unnecessary since it's even smaller on the actual device (iPhone / iPod touch).
- All screenshots are visible at once, that is, if you care to scroll. Why ? Just clicking through them, as it was before, is perfect and space-saving. Not everyone has 2560 pixels horizontally...
- The apps description is only visible after clicking "...more" which in addition is to the very far right of the window. This is very inconvenient for quickly scanning what the app really is about.
BAD
seems clunky and unorganized..like the above statement..so unapple.
