1,984 selfies later, it has been determined that Apple SVP of Software Engineering is not the engineer behind the Twitter account @craig_apple as CNBC previously reported; this was largely assumed due to some of the account’s earlier tweets. The confirmation comes by way of Apple through CNBC in the form of a correction reading “Apple now confirms that @Craig_Apple does not in fact belong to Craig Federighi.”
The account has been actively tweeting and retweeting photos of Craig Federighi posing for selfies with WWDC attendees as the Apple exec has generously been making himself available to WWDC goers all week long. Following the CNBC tweet claiming the account was actually ran by the Apple executive, it quickly racked up thousands of new followers and received Twitter mentions from WWDC observers.
For now, the Twitter account serves as a central hub for viewing photos of Hair Force One with developers attending WWDC… maybe that’s still worth following. See also: Jony Ive & Hair Force One. (Come on, it’s Friday!)
