Googs

The iPhone will be able to support Google Docs and spreadsheets.  How can we make this claim?
Google Apps now work on Safari 3.  We checked it out, you can too.

And if there is any take away from WWDC 2007, it is that real Safari works on iPhone.  So obviously Google is on the "Browser is the SDK" bandwagon for this new Web 2.0 that Steve Jobs keeps talking about.

So by the transitive property GApps works on Safari, Safari (fully)Works on iPhone, therefore we must conclude that Google Apps will work on Safari.

Albeit at EDGE speeds.

Don't believe me?  Open up Safari and... Try it for yourself

Now how about getting the word out?

Safari on iPhone

My only question is.... How do we know the iPhone will ship with Safari 3? It is in fact a public beta, not part of the current OSX. It would seem to me they would NOT include this in the intial release of the phone so that any bugs/crashes/nastiness would not show up on a newly released product. Just a thought...

Safari support for Google Docs is coming soon!

Safari support for Google Docs is coming soon!

We have heard loud and clear that many of you really want it to work, and we are working hard to make this happen. In the meantime, please try us on:
Mozilla FireFox: 1.0.5 or higher
Mozilla SeaMonkey: 1.0 or higher
Camino: 1.0a1 or higher
All of these are FREE and easy to download and use.

Too bad this is untrue. I'm on a recently purchased iPhone right now, and google spreadsheets still fails with the error message "sorry, safari is not supported." Guess the claim was incorrect after all.

Unfortunately it just you

I've been showing off Google Docs to everyone I've come across with an iPhone.

Maybe it's not the iPhone.

Maybe it's just you.

Google Docs works on iPhone, but unfortunately at this stage docs are read-only

Google docs works with the

Google docs works with the public beta version for PC's so i dont see y it wont work with an iphone.

On the PC version of safari, google docs does show an error message when working with spreadsheets however if you just click ok and it continues to work fine.

If this is not the case with the iphone's version then for god's sake apple, get a move on.

gApps only works on Safari 3

gApps only works on Safari 3 or higher. This was only released into (mainstream) mac os x software updates in the last few days. iPhone users will probably have to wait till the next update. Not sure what version of Safri iPhones run currently

I am just trying to understand... If I develop an app on the iPhone to gather information, will I be able to export that information to google apps and upload it to the web. If so, then the user could open google apps on their pc or mac and view or print the information.

I am used to HotSync for the Palm and ActiveSync for the PPC, so I am trying to figure out how to get the information to the Desktop. This seems like it has promise.
