Apple beats Samsung by just one percent in American Customer Satisfaction Index

In last year’s American Customer Satisfaction Index, Apple and Samsung were neck-and-neck at 80%. In this year’s results, released today, Samsung has retained last year’s score while Apple has just edged ahead at 81%.

Apple moves up 1% to take sole possession of the industry lead at 81, just ahead of Samsung, unchanged at 80. Lenovo’s Motorola recedes 3% to 77, as does HTC (75), while LG remains at 74. Microsoft Mobile, with both Nokia- and MS-branded phones, dips to 74, followed by the smaller manufacturers, which edge up 3% to a combined score of 73.

Despite Apple winning out in overall satisfaction across models, it didn’t quite manage the top spot when it comes to specific models …

Wallpaper* magazine names Apple Watch Hermès ‘Life enhancer of the year’ in design awards

The Independent reports that Wallpaper* magazine has listed the Apple Watch Hermès as one the winners of its 2016 design awards. The category? ‘Life enhancer of the year.’ I guess that’s the kind of category you have to expect from a magazine with an asterisk in its name.

Millward Brown explains why Apple retook #1 slot as world’s most valuable brand

Millward Brown’s full report on its 10th annual brand equity ranking sheds light on why Apple regained its #1 ranking from Google. The company bases its rankings on the perceptions of more than 3 million consumers across 50 countries.

With a 67 percent rise in Brand Value to $247 billion, Apple returned to number one in the BrandZ™ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands ranking. Success of the iPhone 6 and the related excitement surrounding the Apple brand drove the increase. Apple also led in the rate of brand value growth over 10 years – 1,446 percent.

The company noted that Apple’s remarkable growth in long-term brand equity was evident in the fact that it didn’t even make the top 100 brands when Millward Brown began its BrandZ measurements just ten years ago …

Apple now leads the luxury gift market in China, taking the #1 slot from Hermès

Apple Inc has taken the number one luxury gifting spot in China from designer goods maker Hermès International SCA, according to a Hurun luxury report on Thursday, reflecting the iPhone maker’s recent hot streak in the country.

Apple tops American Customer Satisfaction Index for 11th year running despite dropping three points

Apple has once again retained its top spot in the annual American Customer Satisfaction Index in the personal computers category – though three points down on its 2013 score. Apple has now held top billing for eleven straight years.

The ASCI continues to lump computers and tablets into the same category, so the scores reflect satisfaction with both Macs and iPads. Scores reflect customer expectations pre-sale, perceived quality, perceived value, customer complaint incidents and customer loyalty …

Wall Street ranks Apple world’s most respected company, analysts raise target share prices

Barron’s reports that institutional investors have returned Apple to its number one slot in its annual ranking of the world’s most respected companies, after it was beaten last year by Berkshire Hathaway.

Apple topped this year’s ranking by scoring 3.94, giving it a wide margin of victory. Berkshire scored 3.58, and the mean was 2.37. Apple received the highest number of Highly Respect votes …
