Apple Camp registration opening today, new Today at Apple sessions for kids starting this month

Apple is opening registration for its annual Camp program for kids at Apple Stores starting today. Three tracks for kids 8-12 this year include sessions on iMovie, GarageBand, and coding. Apple has also introduced new Today at Apple offerings with new Kids Hour sessions covering robotics, filmmaking, and illustration for ages 6-12.

If you’re looking for something to entertain kids aged 8-12 over the summer, and the chance for them to learn some useful tech skills into the bargain, you may want to register them for this year’s Apple Camp. Apple holds annual workshops at its retail stores intended to help kids make creative use of technology. This year’s workshops are focused on coding & robotics, movie-making and story-telling.

Campers can work with visual blocks and solve puzzles while programming Sphero robots. They can learn filmmaking skills: storyboarding, shooting video, and editing soundtracks. Or they can create interactive books complete with their own illustrations and sound effects. At Apple Camp, kids and their creativity are the heroes …

Apple today has opened enrollment for its annual Apple Camp program. For those unfamiliar, Apple Camp is a series of three-day workshops that Apple holds in its retail stores for kids ages 8 through 12. Apple Camp is designed to encourage the kids to explore technology and learn how to use it to be successful and creative.
