French iPhone Crème Brulée
According to French blog Nowhere Else, a white iPhone 3GS, while under a lot of CPU load, left faded brown streaks on the back plastic cover. According to the site, the user said:
I did the test several apps warning radars in the car when I was a passenger, the apps using the GPS chip as well as 3G, after a while my iPhone was very hot but not burning hot.
The user apparently called Apple customer service who wanted the iPhone to do some "analysis".

That's a heavy thinking iPhone!
How long does it have to over heat in order for it to turn blue? Pink is not my color.
this story could be so true because we all know "manufacturing defects" always exist, but for some reason I'm not buying this story!

This incident as well as the repeated reports about cracks in white iPhones make me worry if it was the right decision to get a white one this time…!?
Never had any problems with my previous black ones, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed…
Hi,
please uploads images on your own website, i'll erase these ones (these that you are using here) in 1h because of my bandwidth.
I see two possible things that happened, this doesn't look like a heat related problem. Here is what I see happened
1. iPhone had red liquid spilled on it, a can of Hawaiian Punch gave my macbook that color.
2. or he used it in a cheap case that rubbed color onto it.
This was definitely not caused by heat. You can tell by the pattern. Come on guys, we've all seen the take apart's done by isuppli. The battery is in the middle of the phone. If there was a heat issue, it would radiate out from the center. It certainly wouldn't form rings that match the curvature of the product.
The only thing to blame here is either a case or his French clothes that rubbed their dye on the phone.
Are there apps available that act as radar detectors? Or am I reading the translation from the French wrong?
or maybe from the cradle in a hot car. i get heat warnings sometime in a hot car after a few hours.
I just love the fact that you apple fanatics can't admit that there might something wrong with your precious little Iphone. Thank god this thing doesn't have multi-tasking....brown would have to be the new standard color!
had a case on mine looked like that . then took it to the store and got a new one ordered. then took the case off, marks not there . new iphone 3gs white for free.
