Apple confirms major US broadcasters offer HD TV through iTunes
ABC, Fox, CBS and NBC Universal have all signed up to offer popular TV shows in high definition for sale through the iTunes Store, Apple announced today.
These shows, including the likes of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Lost” from ABC, “CSI” and “CSI: Miami” from CBS, “Bones” and “Prison Break” airing on FOX, and “Heroes” and “The Office” from NBC Universal are available now.
Apple also confirmed itself to have sold in excess of 200 million TV episodes sold, including over a million HD episodes purchased since the launch of HD programming on iTunes last month.
“We’ve got an incredible Fall 2008 TV lineup with over 70 primetime comedies and dramas, including many of the most popular shows on TV in stunning HD,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s vice president of Internet Services.

Sorry... But couldn't resist...
The offering would be awesome if brought abroad (besides UK and scattered shows in Germany). We, in Europe, suffer from much higher average Blu-Ray players as well as discs. So Apple could really make huge profits here.
Please... Maybe MWSF 09.
I know it doesn't entirely depend on Apple whether we will receive these shows or not. But I long for them ever since I bought the AppleTV (currently use other methods to get my HD TVshows and HD movies fix).
Come on..
