New 3x3 MIMO Airports coming tomorrow as well?

When it rains, it pours.  Today Engadget found some FCC docs detailing a new (or possibly just updated) Apple Wireless device.  Interestingly, they are called 3x3 which probably refers to 3x3 MIMO

3x3?

Yes 3X3

I'm guessing it has to do with the number of transmitters/receivers. Maybe it can connect a b, g & n network all at full speeds at the same time?

Excuse the noobness, but what *is* a 3 x 3 access point?

The FCC documents say the radio manufacturer is Marvell, so it's probably fairly similar to this:

Maybe a new Time Machine?

I presume it's 3x3 MIMO, ie. 3 antennas in/out at once.

IFA integrated antennas: Used for cellular data?

Something like this?

The Aruba 650/651 Branch Office Controller is designed for applications
in which a compact, cost-effective “all-in-one” networking
solution is required.

looks to me like this is the new "trackpad device".. a 3"x3" wireless trackpad for desktops.

It is the all new Wi-Fi 802.11 (abgn) Acess Point. The specification has been just released.

The 3 receive antennas "can" be used to receive 3 different streams of data (effectively tripling the throughput).

The 3 transmit antennas, similarly, "can" be used to transmit 3 different streams.

3x throughput will depend on the channel conditions and also only a few clients (laptop wireless cards) are capable of 3x3 hence you may not get 3x throughput.

I say "can" because some implementations may choose to use multiple antennas to increase robustness and not transmit/receive multiple streams.
