CNET's Brian Tong says new MacBook Pro part numbers are showing up at Best Buy
Most of this stuff is last week's news but at 1:49 left in the video (feel free to fast forward), he mentions that his sources at Best Buy say there are new part numbers showing up in their systems that correspond to new MacBook Pros. He correlates this to last week's information that new MacBook Pro families were spotted in the 10.6.2 software. He then goes on to recommend those on the fence about purchasing a MacBook Pro to wait a few weeks before buying.

Man that video is irritating..
But "Slate" does sound very Apple-ish. Anyways, I'd be surprised if new Macbook pros came out because the current generation is only mid-cycle. Maybe a new 15" Macbook Air?
I was at Bic Camera in Tokyo last week (ostensibly a camera store, but it has a gigantic selection of a little bit of everything) having went to see the new 27" iMac. Bic has a really good Mac section. They had the iMac, but what was curious was that all of the MacBook Pros were discounted about ten percent off. My Japanese wasn't that great, but I didn't see any catches or anything. It seemed to me like an inventory blowout before a product refresh.
I'm not getting excited until Apple announces something solid.
Btw... are kids this young allowed to appear on tv without a guardian present? what a twat.
I've seen this show a few times, yeah sometimes the host can be annoying, but news is good, and its worth some legit laughs too. Slate? Kinda interesting...
my idea (and i'm surprised no one mentioned this), get rid of the Air, and replace it with the long fabled tablet. The iSlate? I like it.
I don't know about iSlate; it's not bad, but I think I like the ring of "Apple Slate" better. Not sure what it is exactly. Maybe I'm just getting tired of the iThis, iThat.
