i just want copy+paste and MMS for iphone :( please steve, pleeeeeease!

ughhhhhhhhhhhhh, enough with the copy and paste already

More of the same...

the best is yet to come…

say after me "applications" ;-)

did anyone ever notice how the appletv costs €299 ($422) in europe and $229 in the states?

I just noticed because I anticipate on the new ipod touch's price in europe, so i looked for a thing with the same price.

anyway, back on topic. Genius sounds like a nice invention, didn't really expect that much so it's hard to be disappointed.

I was expecting a bit more, after reading post after post of rumors my mind was set on a new apple tv, and some new goodies! but the only updates were to the ipod touch and ipod nano, i agree they needed an update, but something new would have made me happy!

I was hoping for a way to sync itunes and ipod via wifi. Should just be a matter of software, right?

Expected bigger priced drops of the Touch and hoped for higher capacity... I'd still go for the iPhone if I had to decide.

I'm fine for now - just bought a 160 Classic, but I'm hoping this isn't the last version before they all go touch+flash. I want my 250GB iPod!

Big Clickwheel iPod + iPhone is the way to go. Please don't kill off the Classic, Apple.

Seriously they had to have an "event" for this, who cares? i'm sure if you are one of the few people on the planet without an iphone or an ipod these updates are magical and will somehow make life worth living again, but if you've had ipods, it's the same ol same ol. As far as the earbuds, i guess if you are an audiophile, (i'm an audio engineer) this is a ploy on your nit picking tastes for sound, but come on they are mp3's mainly that you are listening to on an ipod who cares if you get a tiny bit more clarity and range, its all compressed audio in the first place. I do however like the control function on the $29 set, i've been really wanting that when i exercise, i hate having to take my phone out of my pocket and hit forward etc. Probably the only thing i found exciting.

I wonder when the media will stop coming to these things. What a let down.

Those idiots who want more hardware, go to hell stupid. You want apple to introduce everything on one day, what would they have left for mac world. The title said that it was an ipod event, and they modified all. So screw you haters that don't get enough.

Nothing new iPods have been around for years now what is the big deal? yawn!

Downgrade for classic?!
I hope they don't pull the plug on the original.

And yeah what more to expect, its ipod event. All of em were changed.

As for the copy n paste and mms on iphone, even my bb can do that. The all mighty iphone should simple tasks that those.

For the guy complaining about mp3s, alot of ppl put aiff and apple lossless on their ipods. So nicer headphones do help. Especially when there's noise outside.

Any idea if the previous gen Classic is getting a software update to match the new line's features? Surely the Genius/Mic features are all software, not hardware, and can easily be updated, right?????

Where are the rainbow series of Mac tablets?

Do we really need to have a media event for some slightly upgraded iPods? I like the hype and secrecy to a point, but really, couldn't Apple just release thse and spend the money on ads? I'm getting weary of these over-promised, under-delivered events.

I used to look forward to them, but now I simply look forward to being disappointed. Apple used to be on the cutting edge of tech in computers, but theirs still lacks Blu-Ray drives, eSata connectors, etc., etc.

C'mon Apple! Enough of the dog and pony show and get back to engineering some good stuff!

"Do we really need to have a media event for some slightly upgraded iPods?...I'm getting weary of these over-promised, under-delivered events."

First, everyone knew what to expect out of this "event".

Second, don't assume that this was all about new iPods. CNBC, or Time...one of them...stated that this press conference was more about a healthy Steve Jobs bouncing around in public in front of the world press than Genius playlists.

IF you think about it in those terms, it may have been one of the more important Apple events in recent history.

I'm getting weary of these over-promised, under-delivered events."`

hey buddy think twice about whos promising you all that stuff. Apple is the company who doesnt speak so its pretty Effin clear to me that its not apple over-promising but you just getting caught up in apple gossip. I read all this online stuff too because im interested in apple, but i dont take it to heart other wise i would be balling my eyes out in disappointment as we speak.

The truth is that to the average consumer who doesnt know the content of the apple fan blogs are extremly satified with the outcome of products delivered by apple and doesnt think twice about it.because they were expecting anything like a crazy new tablet that apple has never commented on or that feature you heard about that they might have next week because unless its coming from a company for example microsoft who was all talk with vista vista will do this vista will do that and then give a meare facelift and some background changes now THAT is overpromising and underdelivering so think who your pointing the finger at for those high expectations

ANK... Wrong. When you hold a special media event for your products, you're inferring that there's going to be something above and beyond regular product upgrades. When Apple released the iPhone, it needed a special event, but some upgrades and model changes is not all that special.

And if Jobs needed to be paraded out in front of the investors, why couldn't that wait until next month when they (presumably) release the new MacBooks?

the thing with being such an acclamed company is that obviously it comes with great speculation and expectations but really sometime some people just say i want i want i want but when it comes down to it go with what the majority want, and the majority is not the apple fan boys who orgasm over the idea of copy and paste. I thought Apple brought out a very compelling line of refreshed products introduced new headphones which bring the audio quality the ipod always deserved and a new set of enhancements that make an appealing line even more so. Good work apple. and i cant wait to see whats in store in the Macbook pro department since im waiting to buy my computer when that comes out im excited and really i already love it as it is now so the only thing that would be alet down is if they downgraded it lol

and i cant say this enough but your captcha thing is a real piss off

Apple is on top of their game right now and at this point it's all about REFINEMENT - which is making improvements to their existing technologies, rather than pointlessly gambling with new ones. If you're expecting them to come out with something entirely new and left-field at each launch then you really don't understand this company at all.

Pretty much what I expected...In line witht he popular rumors.

Hardware I'm sure will come (Never soon enought)

The BAD...just bought an iPhone..and they arn't supporting the Nike+...which pretty much sucks..becasue I'm not going to buy a Touch just for that...and would have brought a little extra value. There unless the developpment teams don't talk (which they do) they should both have this feature.

Also no word on PUSH...guess I'll have to wait till Friday..but all signs point to not yet! which is too bad..because they promised...I don't care when they don't bring out some crazy tablet no one knows about, but spends countless hours speculating over! but when they don't deliver their promise...thats not on!

Otherwise pretty good...I'm really happy about the new ultra-smart most of the time playlists

HD TV is good..too bad it won't play on the iPhone or touch...hopefully they'll fix that soon.

Colours are good..bright and vibrant...

iTunes 8...is it me or is that an ugly new interface? The genius sidebar looks very cramped and awkward there (and I'm on a 20"imac!) the black background for grid view just doesnt fit with anything else in the OSX environment and the standard list view with album art has been completely uglified...what happened to nice shiny album arts in a white column with the nice reflection underneath?

The new album art column has that nasty beige background that seems to appear here and there in certain things and takes up so much space! Any single tracks you have from an album take up 10-12 lines of screen space because of the massive padding around the image and the huge title font used underneath! What's with that? I really hope software updates will improve on this somewhat...clearly Apple just want to turn itunes into an oversized version of the iTouch interface!

We want computers, no toys !!!
