Might be good for a student and obviously Apple is trying increase Christmas sells.
Myself, I have the 16 GB iPhone and wish I had 32 GB. One thing I would like to see is a way to easily change the iPhone battery. Other than that the iPhone rocks.
The rates need to come down, not the price of the device.
I would rather pay $300 or $400 for an iphone and get better options for data plans.
If I could have a pay as you go data plan (I'm in wifi areas 95% of the time), or an EDGE-only plan, or something along those lines, I'd be way more likely to consider dropping the dough.
I love my iPod touch, and would like to get an iphone, but I can't justify the dataplan costs compared to what i'm doing now with my touch and RAZR.
It needs to come to Verizon first. Then I will snatch one up right away.

the cost of the device is nada in comparison to the cost of the plan so therefore the entry cost is unimportant.
Further, at my home, there is NO GSM service of any kind, only Verizon
