I just want there to be a new iPod Touch, cause my current one broke last month, so I've been waiting for the new one cause I don't want to buy the current one and have a new one come out only a few weeks later
Apple isn't going to cancel any product. They're just turning them out, they all make a profit. So why cancel them? The engineering cost has been sunk, folks!
I see basic iPod upgrades and updates as rumored, nothing more.
Biggest surprise is probably going to involved the AppleTV
But on another note, why is RIP iPod shuffle an option in this poll? The iPod shuffle only got updated earlier this year, it's still relatively new, so why would they EOL it?
i work in an apple shop in australia and we have NEVER sold one of the new ipod shuffles. there's no interest when the nano is such good value and do so much more.
I agree about the shuffle. I have never used the new one, but from the instructions it looks too complicated to be an Apple device. (And the first iPod to talk to you marketing is kinda BS too....my 2G iPod nano with nike kit spoke to me in a sexy voice ;) ) I don't see something being that small is a selling point anymore, and navigating with voice prompts looks so frustrating especially as the capacity of the shuffle will grow and people will put more and more music on them
I think they'll keep the classic because there is demand there for it albeit from a smaller group to have all your music with you (for example a friend going to peru for a year who will bring her ipod but not her computer with her)
iTunes going social would kind of be a surprise in how they could pull it off in a meaningful way--iTunes getting blu ray and one of the macs getting blu ray or ability to extract digital copies from blu rays would be a bigger surprise
I think the biggest surprise would be to see the tablet. There is very little evidence that the tablet is going to be at the event and therefore if it was, I would be surprised.
I am probaply too critical, but I think this event will be an anti-climax like the WWDC in June was. To please me, among other things, Apple should introduce this long-awaited tablet with reasonable pricing (no more than 500$). I am afraid a 64Gb iPod is an illusion. I hope to proven wrong.
If you look at what non mac users interested in switching to Mac OS X want, it's a cheaper, slower, less featured mac somewhere between the iPod Touch and the MacBook Air that's at the same time, well built and nicely designed. a $450-$600 netbook.
Yeah after voting, I feel that the classic will stay. Maybe a revamp. Apple Tv would be great. Maybe DVR functionality with subscription thru Mobile Me?
For me, a tablet would only be interesting to see how Apple handles inputs. IE: the keyboard (software keyboard? bluetooth keyboard??) I am curious how they will solve this!
It has to be something with either and Apple TV, tablet (ipod version most likely), or cocktail is going to be a big enough deal to make it worth it. Right now the ipod updates getting cameras there seems to be no change to the actual ipods, so there isn't much for them to talk about other than they take pics, new itunes is great but it's still not a big enough deal to warrant an entire event. So something needs to happen. Most likely it will go towards the Apple TV and integrate cocktail come how.

Must be astonishing to the executives at Apple to watch the massive speculation. Apple has not announced an event on September 9 (except the one in 2008), has not announced that they are working on a tablet or upgrades to any of the other products and never mentioned anything about the Beatles. But my guess is a "partnership" with the Beatles and upgrade to iTunes. A 10" tablet may be too soon for the ultra perfectionism of Steve Jobs.

The Beatles on iTunes won't really be a surprise, will it? 09/09/09 is their big release date of their remastered catalog (physical CDs of both original mono recordings as well as remastered stereo, according to their own site, http://www.thebeatles.com ). I'm looking forward to them on iTunes and may buy a download even though I'm getting the CDs (I still believe they'll dominate iTunes' top 10 once they're released.)
Since apple is going full 64-bit and a computer should at-least have 4GB of memory to take advantage of 64-bit, I would like to see all apple products updated to base of 4GB DDR3 RAM and then im getting a MBA.
I suppose there will be a decision regarding the iPod Shuffle. Until now, they sell both the second and the third generation. Will they finally say goodbye to the older version? Of will they return to it? I'm curious.

I think we'll see the announcement of this "Cocktail" thing with flow-on effects for AppleTV (and perhaps gaming!)

MeBook?
Transition from i to me?
Could be a tablet that can stream HD content, and has Safari as its OS. MobileMe subscription included in purchase price.

iTunes 9 Otherwise,
iTunes 9
Otherwise, realistically there will be no sunrise unless we see a tablet. Which is so unlikely in itself.

now why would they kill ipod classic? are you nuts?
New Apple TV SKU's...
have appeared on the Apple back of house systems.
Specifically we have an European Apple TV refresh coming as well!
I hope they've tied up some BBC content. iPlayer for the Apple TV would be a win!
They have to make a Shuffle choice
I suppose there will be a decision regarding the iPod Shuffle. Until now, they sell both the second and the third generation. Will they finally say goodbye to the older version? Of will they return to it? I'm curious.
no tablet,but....
a 10"MBA!!!!
