Campaign ad: McCain can't even use a Mac?
We aren't taking sides here on any political fronts - our comments system probably couldn't handle it. Both candidates are amazing stories and we'll leave it at that OK?
Anyway - Obama's campaign has jumped on the "out of touch" message toward McCain by saying he "doesn't use a computer" (see screengrab below). Not even a nice new MacBook Pro? Come on, even a 72 year old war vet can use a MacBook. I call BS!
To be fair, the Obama campaign team used Brush Script in the Ad which is just as 1982 as not using computers (thanks comment). When McCain has an Apple related ad, we'll throw it up - promise!

Come on! Look how easy the MacOS is!

Imagine for a minute that attending the Republican convention in St. Paul, sitting in a skybox overlooking the convention floor, were observers from Russia, Iran and Venezuela. And imagine for a minute what these observers would have been doing when Rudy Giuliani led the delegates in a chant of “drill, baby, drill!”
Meh, McCain is a loser. Here is to hoping he does not bring the US down in a ball of glory vis a vis WWIII. You're friends across the pond are pulling for you yankees... maybe you will get it right this time around.
I remember the "what's on George Bush's iPod" video and 9to5's bias comments against it . That will always taint this site in my mind.

Are you kidding? Why do we have to walk on egg shells around you ultra-conservatives (or ultra liberals) can't we be apolitical and just talk about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates?
WTF? That was a clear jab at the RIAA.
He just doesn't know how to use Windows computers. They used a mac in the ad because thats the only kind of computers they have in the production companies office.
The ad used Brush Script?! Wow, that just lowered my opinion of Obama's usually amazing design team. :-)
very true.
There trying to make John McCain seem outdated and by using brush script it just adds to that feeling
Tis true!
Yahoo! did a video during the primaries. Here's the vid:

When asked "Mac or PC?" McCain responds "Neither. I am a illiterate who has to rely on my wife for all of the assistance that I can get."
Luckily you only have to decide which button to press, so no need to read. If some of you still remember the video to "Land of confusion".
If you want war, you know who you need to vote forTM
Be political about Bill Gates 9 to 5, but please leave the politics out of a Mac site. There are strong enough opinions on technology . You think either of these guys spend much time on technology when they are constantly talking in public with the schedules they have. King BM has plenty of people to do his emails as well.
What a comical attack ad. Obama must be getting desperate.
Due to his injuries as a POW, McCain can't type, tie his own shoes or even comb his hair.
Please. He doesn't use a computer, that's fine. He's from a different era, truly a different generation, and never bothered to learn. No need to try justify it with lame excuses. People with only one arm (single-hand keyboard, which would help him if he has problems getting his arms together in front of him) or without arms at all can use computers. You don't even need a pole on you forehead to tap the keys anymore. :) Assuming you've got enough scratch http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/news_details.php?id=14987 . That's chump change for Mr. John McCain. Although I suppose his handlers would definitely want to avoid a photo op using that piece of equipment. In world of PR "talking about being a disabled war vet" = sexy, "strapping a functional but goofy looking helmet to your head and bobbing your head around like a geek"=FAIL. Just ask Dukakis. :)
Here's a snippet from a long article from the Boston Globe about why McCain doesn't use a computer:
The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He's an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can't raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.
The whole article can be found here:

But does he understand how it (a computer) works? Maybe an encyclopedic knowledge of Ted William's shilling for Sears, Roebuck and Co. will help the Fossil keep us out of harm's way.
His arms seem to allow him to use both a cell phone -- at his ear -- and a Blackberry just fine.
First it was "There were WMDs in Iraq", then it was "Sarah Palin was against the Bridge to Nowhere", and now it's "McCain can't use electronics because of his arms?"
What is it about the Republican party today and lying? Why do they lie with EVERY word they say?
The last eight years have been horrible for a lot of people; it's time to move on to people that don't have to lie to the American people..
lol, as someone in the obama camp, I have to say it's so funny seeing that there is a man who got this far without touching a computer as did so many before him.... and did fine....
how do you think Abe Lincoln did it, or even FDR?
I think the point is that he doesn't keep current with the times, not that one can't function without a computer.
First it was "There were WMDs in Iraq", then it was "Sarah Palin was against the Bridge to Nowhere", and now it's "McCain can't use electronics because of his arms? What is it about the Republican party today and lying?"
There were WMD in Iraq (everyone, including Clinton, Kerry and every other high profile Democrat), Palin was against the bridge after she read the detailed report, and McCain can't type on a standard keyboard because of his arms - no one ever claimed he couldn't use "electronics".
What is it about liberals and lying?

>> There were WMD in Iraq
After the 2000? Outside a handful of missiles that were technically forbidden from Sadam possessing because their range was somewhat too long (and those were disassembled), the only WMD in Iraq were the ones getting kicked out the back of US/British planes flying over top.
Politics aside, why is it that liberals are so angry and full of hate?
why is it that every republican/conservative I have known is compensating for a tiny penis or had a mommy that breast fed them for too long?
every Democratic/Liberal I have known who doesn't have to compensate because they ARE a big d*ck and don't get enough t*t! And who wants to be associated with that? lol
I wonder how many times McCain took it up the ass in that POW camp? He still kinda walks with a limp.
From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000):
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes.
f*ck john mccain and his war injuries. getting shot down over vietnam does not qualify you to be president - it only qualifies you as being a bad pilot.
Ron Paul 2012
It worked for John F. Kennedy...
What a poor PT boat captain he was for allowing his PT109 to get cut in half by a Jap war ship. Of course this led the way for JFK's excellent venture in Cuba at the Bay of Pigs when he became Prez!
Ron Paul, as a physician, should know better than to self medicate himself!
