White MacBook's specs are now closer to Unibody MacBook's

Maybe Apple ran out of the old motherboards? 

Apple, a few days ago (sneaky little bastards), updated the polycarbonate white MacBook's specs pretty significantly. 

No one noticed. 

Strangely, even with the NVIDIA 9400M chipset, the White MacBook still uses the Mini DVI Port from the look of the side.  Also, while the RAM has been upgraded to 2GB (joy!) it is DDR2 and not DDR3 like the Unibody MacBook.  Bluetooth moves from 2.0 to 2.1.

These won't be able to power a 30 inch screen like the Unibodies as well because Mini DVI only supports resolutions of 1920x1200.

Oh, and don't worry, Firewire is still there.

Brilliant now its ready for snow leopard but you can't have it if you live in the uk. Still reads as the old spec in the uk store.

Just have to move the family to california now. It's not going to be as difficult now the president is not a total a$$h0l3.

Yeah, I'm surprised that President Bush allowed anyone to move to the US, being such an a$$h0l3 and all. He clearly is just an evil person who would do anything and everything to hurt people. He gets off on it.

This is quite a surprising move. SInce the polycarbonate models have been selling well and the looming release of 10.6 Snow Leopard, I guess Apple wants as many machines to be OpenCL ready - even if it means upgrading the specs.

Also, this should also bring smiles to those who were critiquing about the removal of FW400 on the unibody models. I might end up getting this one if it also sells outside the US.

I agree this paves the way for Nvidia on the higher end mac mini, if not both. And dare I say it, It will create the space for a graphics deficient netbook. If netbooks are expected to sell at least 30 million units this year, Apple can't afford to not be in this space. Apple netbook by August 2009.
