Apple Patents: Nike + iPod coming to bikes, App to navigate malls

Patently Apple does a great job explaining Apple’s latest interesting patents and today the “Smart Bike” and Mall app have come upon us. The Smart Bike seems like the most interesting bicycle ever, a techie-bicyclist’s dream. It will use the various sensors in the bike and iPhone to measure things like altitude, speed, power, heart rate, path distances, and several more.

It gets even cooler with multi-cyclist integration: riders can communicate with each other to inform of traffic and other obstacles. Too bad they’re not calling this thing the “Magic Bicycle.”

Apple has also patented a mobile application which helps navigate customers through malls. The app will show where the stores are, show them how to get their, and even unlock private bathrooms! You’ll also be able to make dinner and movie reservations, pretty neat.
