NBC last night teamed up with DC Comics to premiere one of its new shows on iPads in advance of its TV screening on Jan. 9.

The Cape won’t appear in the US until this weekend, but users of DC Comics’ iPad app can already view the one-hour pilot episode within the app until Jan. 8.

The show features David Lyons as Vince Faraday, a cop who is unjustly accused of a crime and becomes a secret crime fighter.

“We thought engaging with DC Comics and the iPad would be a perfect way to create some pre-premiere buzz with fans who have the capacity to be ambassadors,” said NBC’s Adam Stotsky. Clearly this reflects the buzz behind the industry-defining iPad tablet.
