Apple celebrates a decade of iTunes with in-app microsite

decade

Apple is marking the 10th anniversary of iTunes with a special microsite which, in a rather nice touch, opens in iTunes itself. While the anniversary is on Sunday, the site is already live in the US and UK, though not apparently in all countries …

Decade of iTunes features key milestones from iTunes itself and other music-related Apple news – like the 3rd-generation iPod announced on the same day iTunes launched. It also allows a nostalgic trip down a musical memory lane, showing the top-selling songs and albums for each year.

Apple announced it with a press release hand-signed by Eddy Cue, Senior VP of Internet Software and Services, who played a key role in creating the iTunes store.
