We’ve previously covered the recent rumors of the 20 Megapixel Sony Wifi ‘smart lens’ which will attach to Android and iOS smartphones and connect to the phone via Wifi. Theoretically, you’ll be able to take much better pictures with the bigger CMOS sensor and Zeiss glass.
But is that black lens going to look good on your new gold iPhone? No, it is not.
Thankfully, the rumored gold iPhone now has a rumored gold lens attachment from Sony, according to a report from SonyAlphaRumors. According to the report, it will be announced at Sony’s IFA event in Berlin (which Jordan will be covering). Some other info about the new lens comes with the ‘smartshots’ above:
The product will be called the ‘Smartshot’ a combination of Smartphone and Cybershot and it will work with both Android and iOS devices over Wifi/NFCvia the Playmemories APP. The hardware will have body stabilization, 1080P/30f MP$ video and good low light performance.
The QX10 has the same 1/2,3 inch 18 megapixel CMOS sensor and f/3,3-5.9 lens as the Sony WX150 ($400 on Amazon). The QX100 (not the one pictured here which is the QX10) costs $450. That is $300 less than the price of the RX100MII camera ($748 here at Amazon) that features the same sensor and lens! Greta pricing! You can get the best compact camera yet on market for $300 less.
