Skype for Mac updated, with bug fixes and improved screen-sharing

Skype for Mac has been updated, fixing an annoying bug where chat messages would sometimes fail to appear, and screen-sharing now providing the option to share an individual window, rather than the entire screen or a fiddly hand-drawn area. The full change-log can be found on the Skype blog. The latest version can be downloaded here.

Skype for iPad & iPhone was updated last month, with HD video calls and improved call quality.

    Hopefully this release fixes:
    1) Frequent crashing during group video chats.
    2) Frequent inability to share screen. User often has to attempt to share screen 2-3 times before it will actually work.
    3) CPU usage maxing out (and causing a crash). Happens only during video and/or screen sharing.

  2. Still using Version 2.8 where it was still a small, unobtrusive and simple dialler that didn’t take up half my screen and crash all the time. And this won’t be changing anytime soon.

Not true. I have had the worst Skype experience on my MacBook Air this past month (November 2013). I use Mac OS 10.7.5 and I kept getting booted off or not even able to log on. It would ask to send a report. Nothing would change. Eventually I just removed it from my computer.
