Angela Ahrendts to join Apple next week, as retail SVP

Burberry Group Plc CEO Angela Ahrendts At The London Stock Exchange

Tim Cook has just announced on the earnings call that Angela Ahrendts, ex-CEO of Burberry, will join Apple next week. She became a Dame of the British Empire a few weeks ago. Recent doubts about her joining date were clearly false, as she is joining Apple next week.

Ahrendts announced that she was leaving Burberry last October. In the meantime, she has transitioned away from Burberry, where she was previously CEO. She will take a SVP role at Apple, as retail chief leading retail sales in both brick-and-mortar stores and online. Apple has not had a lead retail director since John Browett was fired in October 2012.

As an SVP, she should appear on Apple’s executive biographies page when she finally joins sometime next week.

Welcome, Angela! We’re happy to have you part of the Apple team.

  2. Angela is pure brilliance and in time will replace Tim Cook as CEO, which is precisely why Tim has hired her. Apple will have a female CEO and she’s going to kick butt!
