Apple expands in-store iPad trade-in program overseas starting w/ UK, France, Germany, & Spain

iPad-Recycle-iPhoneUpdate #2: The UK and Spain too. Apple is advertising the new program on its website in the new countries (pictured right).

Update: The iPad trade-in program is now available in Germany, according to a report from Macerkopf.de.

Last month we reported that Apple launched a new in-store iPad trade-in program on Earth Day in the US and Canada, and now the program has reportedly expanded to France. iPhoneaddict.fr reports that Apple confirmed the program has launched at Apple Stores in the country, which are currently accepting iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, and iPad mini for trade-in value towards a new iOS device. Like in the US and Canada, the program doesn’t allow customers to trade-in the current gen iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina display.

Like with iPhones, trade-in values for eligible devices will be determined by Apple Store employees using their system and will vary depending on the condition of the device. With the addition of iPads, customers will be able to use the credit from both iPad and iPhone trade-ins towards the purchase of any new iOS device. We’ve reached out to Apple to see if today’s launch in France includes any additional countries. Let us know in the comments if the program has kicked off at stores in your country.

Earlier this month Apple kicked off a big iPhone trade-in event at its U.S. that would see advertising and employees pushing upgrade offers for the iPhone 5s and 5c.

  1. I don’t like the idea of selling it back to Apple and only getting store credit. I would rather sell it & get back so I can purchase the new iPhone 6 when it comes out. There a dozen of buy back companies that will pay more the Apple.

There’s even a Kayak like site but for Apple Devices that show you all the offers in one spot.

I’ve used it before and loved it. I highly suggest it to other Apple lovers, it’s called http://www.recomhub.com
