Can’t wait until September? The Goophone i6 is out now, and it will fool your friends

The iPhone 6 may not actually exist yet, but that hasn’t stopped Chinese clone manufacturers releasing functional knock-offs based on the leaks and mockups. Now Goophone – the company which previously made an extremely close copy of the iPhone 5s – has joined the party with the WICO i6.

As ever with Goophone, the quality of both the casing and the iOS-themed Android skin is certainly good enough to fool the casual observer – almost worth getting one to prank people …

As for the real thing, production of the 4.7-inch model is expected to start next week, and the 5.5-inch version the second week in August, Foxconn hiring 100,000 new workers for the assembly process.

There’s been a steady stream of claimed leaked parts from the phone, including a scratch test of a sapphire display; both photos and video of the back of the phone; the LCD bracket; the chassis; a ‘more durable’ Touch ID sensor‘; and a battery and camera sensor.

Why isn’t there a battalion of Apple lawyers parked outside the Goophone plant?

Possibly because this is not going to affect sales in any way shape or form. I have no idea who would actually invest in a shoddy knock-off like these. Plus, we still have no proof that this is what the real iPhone 6 will look like…at least I am hoping it looks better!

Just like there was no proof of all the other iPhones that came before it yet every single leak and rumored render was dead on target. You’re looking ar the new iphone minus a few chambered edges here and there. Additionally Apple doesn’t do anything because honestly they can’t do anything…Chinese Government actually promoted and encourages this….and to answer your question as to who would invest in this sort of technology…well there are many Chinese handsets that are of flagship quality. Every person around the world that buys one of these or something similar and doesn’t buy an iPhone is hurting Apple…whether it be directly or indirectly. The iPhone is made in China…Chinese people are cloning the phone…add it up!

That would fool no one with decent intelligence.

It would if the other person wasn’t an iPhone user. Many people don’t take technology as seriously as we loons who subscribe to this crap do. Most people are oblivious to the stuff that makes our lives interesting. As long as the coffee maker works, life is good.
