Via GforGames, China Mobile is listing specs for the 4.7 inch iPhone 6 on its website. Whilst some of this information is obvious at this point, like screen size, other information is very specific. The site ostensibly claims the iPhone will use a quad-core A8 processor, will have some level of waterproofing and have a screen resolution of 1334×750. It also claims the device will be 7mm thin.
What’s questionable here is whether China Mobile is reporting ‘fact’ or simply guessing. Carriers have a track record of making up specs pages for future Apple devices, to hype demand before the actual specs are unknown. China Telecom pulled such a stunt a few days ago, using fan-made mockups and rumored technical details, to encourage preorders.
Whilst some of China Mobile’s quoted specs are likely to ring true (the iPhone 6 leaked over the weekend does indeed appear to have a 1334×750 screen resolution), other elements seem very far-fetched.
For instance, to be waterproof, devices usually have to include port covers so water cannot enter through the holes. This seems like something Apple wouldn’t do — and is not supported by past leaks.

The only thing that really bothers me about the specs is the 5.5 looks to be one of the biggest 5.5 phones on the market. I am really hoping they have built a 5.5 phone that doesn’t feels small….maybe like the G3.

Agree. If the 5.5″ iPhone ends up being the largest 5-6″ device out there then that’s not good. That top bezel has to lose some weight!
If you want something small, don’t buy a 5.5″ device! It’s like: I want a 1″ phone with a 10″ screen…
Perhaps by “some level of water proofing” they mean some level minus the port covers. A leak over the weekend included a rubber surrond on the inside of the sleep / wake button.
Untrue re: needing port covers. Have you seen the technology behind HZO? Spray on at the factory makes the device completely waterproof, to a certain level without the need for port covers or rubber. I’ve seen at least 5 iphones and android devices floating in a fish tank, displaying video. I can only hope that Apple has finally teamed up with HZO or done something similar
the 5.5 Inch is Big as Big as the LG Flex !!! i have the Case for it already and believe it’s big !!!
I’ve been told many times that the lightning port is already waterproof (or that it easily could be made so).
Surely it’s possible to waterproof the jackstick without a plug?
Man I hope the screen resolution is higher at least. If I could ask for more a reduced bezel version of the leaks with out pinstriping xD happy event tomorrow fellas, I can’t wait for the upgrade either way though.
For $100 premium for me it would have to have reduced bevels and a more industrial design without the antenna gaps. I really can’t see Apple not having a different design for the 5.5″ model.
They don’t though. The case leaked, along with purported dimensions. It’s about the same bezels as the 4.7″ just based on the sheer size of the 5.5″ case. It’s honestly ridiculously huge.
Your point is backed up by the design of the current generation iPod touch and both iPads.
Yeah I can’t wait to be forced to get a 5.5″ because they keep the same pixel density on the 4.7″. I can easily see pixels and jagged lines, I mean it’s just sad if they don’t do at least the rumored 3x. I don’t believe a larger screen should maintain the same sized UI either. I think it should be a blend of larger UI elements and more content. Frankly it’s not good if it’s just added content.
Feld & Volk has highlighted the presence of a rubber seal around the home button. And the power button. Not too much of a stretch?
90% of the 80 million iPhone 6’s that are supposed to ship this year are 4.7″. I can’t see just sapphire yield rates and other component shortages being responsible for such a difference in shipped units.
I hope Apple finally gives a new industrial design with the 5.5″. The bezels don’t need to keep being so large. Thinness needs to sacrificed for a shorter and more narrow device for the 5.5″ model to be usable. Just blowing up the size of the iPhone 5s, and adding iPad like Air curves and adding new internals seems lazy by Apple.
In a side note it is crazy how much security Apple has in the finally assembly and distribution and staging of the initial shipments of iPhones. It’s a no brainier the new iPhones are already being staged for distribution in the US.
No leaks of photos of the box or device itself would take a hell of a lot of security. Hundreds of thousands of assembly workers and not one photo from the assembly plants.

No offense to Benjamin. You are just reporting. All the comments on here saying “It better have smaller bezels than that!” Or “I hope it’s a small 5.5 in phone.” Need to shut it and wait til the flippin Keynote!
