Apple has just wrapped up its media event and has pushed several new pages online. The first is a new page dedicated to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, and the second is a page for the Apple Watch. But Apple has gone even further, revealing a whole new look for its entire website that features a flattened navigation bar.

A new page about the U2 “Songs of Innocence” album is also live, and includes details on how to redeem your free copy of the album.

Apple has also, for the first time ever, released an iPhone-optimized version of its site. Check it out below:

  1. So today confirms all the leaks from this site since the summer were correct!! This is the ugliest iphone ever.

Anyone else get an “access denied” when checking out the links?

  3. iphone 6 to launch on 26th september in india (written on apple.in site) O.o

yeah website is finally working. It was full of “Access denied’s”

Support is still at the old website

  5. Regarding the iWatch, what “worries” me is they haven’t announced the battery life of this thing.

Though they did hint that we’d better get used to charging it (often).

And its “Magsafe” adapter is kinda cumbersome to carry, assuming it’s the whole bloody cable. Yet one more charging port for our joy.

Hey, Apple, just include a compact micro-usb-to-that adapter and we’re all happy ;)

The web site is typical of current apple. Disparate design, some pages featuring new design, some pages a mess. Why doesn’t the menu stick to the top of the viewport? Basic rules of responsive design and apple seems very far behind. Been a day of disappointment for me, capped off by the demise of the iPod Classic, apples last beautiful, practical piece of design.

Oh, enough with the drama. You’re disappointed because you choose to be. Whats amazing to me is that everyone who is bashing this keynote does not even state what they WANTED to see- because they have no idea. The new phones are gorgeous, and the iWatch is immensely innovative and unique. Noone is forcing you to buy one. There’s nothing “disparate” about Apple’s design, it’s the best its been in their entire history. Maybe you should just build a time machine like all the other Apple haters who pretend that things were so much rosier 10 years ago.

+1. I love the new iPhone 6 design. The iPhone 6+ is a little big, though. The iPhoen 6 and the Apple Watch will work perfectly together!

They were referring to the website when they said “disparate design” and I agree. I just visited the website and only a small portion of it is responsive, other pages are still typical desktop views, which is quite jarring.

    And no Sapphire glass?

To me the biggest thing with the design is no more Home button you have to press – it’s touch! Thumbs around the world rejoice!

Horrible website. It’s taken away everything that made Apple Apple in my opinion. Far less usable and clear than the old website.

That mobile website design is hideous…… I thought Apple had some sense not following this Responsive website design fad.

Umm hello…? Everyone uses a smartphones capable of running websites in full, not puny pathetic mobile websites. Didn’t Jobs say that was the best part of running the internet on iPhone in the first place? I certainly thought so.

Yes, I don’t like the site either. They are slowly taking away everything that made Apple Job’s Apple and are making it plain Apple.

Nice sensationalism there. That old navigation bar looked hideous with their new flat style, now at least everything is consistent. Its more minimal and clean- exactly what makes “Apple Apple”. Not sure how you would define it as “horrible”.

    Looking at the new prices:
The free 5c is only 8 gigs
The 5s has dropped to $149 for the 32 gig model.

  11. Does anyone know what time preorders will go live for the UK on Friday? I’ll be buying the phone unlocked, Need to be first to get the 6+ 64GB but I don’t really wanna be awake all night waiting for it to go live. I have work that day lol.
