Boost Mobile to offer prepaid iPhone 6/6 Plus for $100 off starting Oct 17

Sprint prepaid subsidiary Boost Mobile announced today that it will begin carrying the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus for customers starting next Friday on October 17th. As it has done in the past with the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, Boost Mobile will carry the new iPhone models for $100 off the usual retail price of each device. Below is Boost Mobile’s full pricing lineup for each storage capacity of both the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus:

iPhone 6 16GB: $549.99
iPhone 6 64GB: $649.99
iPhone 6 128GB: $749.99
iPhone 6 Plus 16GB: $649.99
iPhone 6 Plus 64GB: $749.99
iPhone 6 Plus 128GB: $849.99

As you can see in the pricing model above, Boost Mobile will carry each storage capacity for both iPhone 6 models starting next Friday, and Boost Mobile already offers the 16GB iPhone 5s for $449.99, the 16GB iPhone 5c for $349.99, and 8GB iPhone 4s for $199.99 (all currently web only).

Boost Mobile’s discounted iPhone prices may seem higher than other carrier rates which start at $0 and up, but the prepaid carrier’s prices again are cheaper than normal off-contract iPhone prices and customers can pay month-to-month for service, although the devices are limited to Boost Mobile’s network.

  1. And if I read right when the pre-order became available, the Sprint iPhone 6 is the same as the European iPhone 6. Can anyone confirm this?

I am not very clear on this: are these retail prices without any contract and carrier unlocked?

Locked to Boost Mobile but without contract.

Thank you! Is it possible to unlock it or is not allowed? :)

I don’t know but my guess is that it follows the Sprint convention — never unlocked.
