Toledo, Ohio, Apple Store opens Saturday – along with revamped store in Portland, Oregon

Apple has confirmed that its new retail store in Franklin Park Mall, Toledo, is opening at 9am on Saturday. The Starwood-owned mall is located at 5001 Monroe Street, and the store occupies the former Charlotte Russe space, next to Williams Sonoma.

As usual with new Apple Store openings, the first 1000 people to enter the store will receive a free commemorative t-shirt …

IFOstore‘s Gary Allen tweets that the store has clearly been planned for many years, as its rollout number is 266, while other new stores are all in the 600s. The opening has been announced on Apple’s website.

Allen tweets that 9am Saturday will also see Apple re-opening its Washington Square store in Portland, Oregon, after a major expansion that will see it double its floor space to almost 10,000 square feet. The old 30-foot wide frontage is being expanded to 70 feet, taking over former Brookstone and Made in Oregon stores.

The store first opened back in 2003, and the expansion is part of an Apple program to expand and remodel around 20 early stores each year.

Apple is also expected to open a second store in Pioneer Place, Portland, “very soon.”
