After a week of being inactive, the Russian Apple Online Store is now back online with customers freely able to purchase products from the site once again. Apple abruptly stopped trading in the region last week due to significant currency exchange rate fluctuations that meant the company had to readjust prices.

Apple has indeed raised prices significantly. The iPhone 6 now costs 53,990 Rubles for a 16 GB base model. This is a 35% increase in the Russian sales price; the model cost 39 990 Rubles last week. 53,990 Rubles is approximately worth $980 dollars. The 16 GB iPhone 6 lists for $649, excluding taxes.

The Russian store has updated prices across Apple’s range. The cheapest iPhone, the 5c, now costs 29,990 Rubles. The line now tops out at 77,990 Rubles with Apple’s most expensive iPhone, the 128 GB iPhone 6 Plus. This pales in comparison to Apple’s Mac line, though, with the Retina Display iMac priced at almost 200,000 Rubles.

On a related note, Apple readjusted Russian App Store prices on Friday, again accounting for exchange rate variations.

    Ahh… It’s a pity…
But I’m lucky with the iMac… I had bought it for 62000 RUB before it started increasing its price. Now it costs 115000 RUB – unbelievable…

  2. Goodbye Apple. I’m from Russia, and I have to switch to another manufacturer due to unreal updated prices.

  3. people will not buy!
Ебанутых у нас в стране нет. Apple может идти нахуй с такими ценами.

as far as I understand price has risen 54,3% (34990 + 54,3% = 53990). The old price is roughly 35% lower than the new one.

The correct title should be … with iPhone 6 prices now 54% higher compared to week ago
