Apple releases OS X 10.10.3 supplemental update to fix startup issue

Approximately one week after releasing OS X 10.10.3 to the public, Apple has released an OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 Supplemental Update to fix a startup issue related to video drivers. The update is available on the Mac App Store in the Software Update tab. 10.10.3 introduced the new iCloud-based photos app, new emojis, and improved Google login for accounts with two-factor authentication.

  2. This update fixes a serious overall performance bug. That startup fix jabber is just nonsense

    My guess this update is to fix a problem that we all had with the startup disk no longer being recognized when starting the computer … .which slowed down startup significantly. The computer had to search around for the mostly likely source which killed a significant amount of startup time.

    This created a new problem for my Retina Macbook. It now wakes up from sleep randomly at times… ARGH
