Apple seeds OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 beta build 14F25a to developers

Apple has published a new beta build of the upcoming OS X 10.10.5 to developers. The third seed, which has a build number of 14F25a, comes just under a week after the previous build. The 10.10.5 update seems to be a simple stability and security fix, so there aren’t many new features to speak of.

OS X 10.10.5 beta 3 is available through the Updates tab of the Mac App Store for those already running a previous build, and should hit the Developer Center soon. Yesterday Apple also seeded a new version of the OS X El Capitan public beta, and the day before that the same build was distributed to developers.

Main fixes were most likely for the Xcode Bug

Was there an Xcode problem on 10.10.5?

The update that came out a few days ago completely broke Xcode for everyone. Had to downgrade either to an earlier beta or back to Yosemite to fix it

This is Yosemite. You’re talking about El Capitan. This isn’t that.

Correct. Stupid moment on my part

You can easily fix this. There is a solution in the developers forum.
Open up your terminal and paste this:

      cd /Applications/Xcode-beta.app
      cd Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform
      cd Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator.sdk/usr/lib
      sudo mv dyld_sim dyld_sim.orig

after this you have to paste this into your terminal

      cd /Applications/Xcode-beta.app
      cd Contents/Developer/Platforms/WatchSimulator.platform
      cd Developer/SDKs/WatchSimulator.sdk/usr/lib
      sudo mv dyld_sim dyld_sim.orig

Then Xcode 7 beta works fine again.

    Quick question:

Any idea why some apps like iWork and Life keeps notifying I need to get them updated although I have installed the updates, especially right after Mac App Store reboots? Thanks. I’ve been downloading the same updates multiple times. Tweet me: KernkraftX360
