So that’s why f.lux had to be removed by Apple…

No, they were using private APIs.

    • AeronPeryton - 8 years ago

They violated the terms of service agreement by attaching the app to undocumented APIs and telling users to compromise their devices’ security by side-loading the app since they knew Apple would never approve it for the App Store.

What might have happened is that behind closed doors Apple paid f.lux to be able to use their code in a feature baked directly into the OS. Either way, now everyone can take advantage of the the idea.

Password/touch ID protecting should be any app you want system wide….adding Notes is nice but it should be available for any app installed.

They absolutely should do it for photo albums. What is the point of a hidden album that anyone can access? And no, I don’t store naked pictures on my phone, but why not help the millions that do?

Agreed. I was just starting a comment on the other post about this. Makes no sense. Nearly *puritanical*, given Apple’s stances on privacy issues on the larger stage (like they’re making fun of/punishing people who sext). Same goes for Messages Conversations. The Hidden album “feature” is just bizarre.

In Australia, the Settings.app menu for choosing what cellular network you want used to be called ‘Carrier’ and now it is labelled ‘Service Provider’

Finally Apple decided to allow sync of pdfs in ibooks over iCloud! This feature was so obvious and a must since day one!
I hope trackpad function with 3d touch works finally stable and robust (testing dpt. should have noticed long time ago…)
