Adobe updates Lightroom for iOS w/ full-res image output, expanded 3D Touch support, more

Adobe is out with an updated version of Lightroom for iPhone and iPad today which includes one highly requested feature. Starting with versions 2.2, Lightroom for iOS supports full resolution image output. This means quality is retained when editing and sharing photographs using Lightroom whether the image was shot on the device or imported from another device.

Adobe has also expanded 3D Touch support for Lightroom on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Just like in the stock Photos app, Lightroom users with these flagship iPhones can now press firmly on images in the photo browser to see a larger preview, then press deeper to fully open the image.

Here’s the full set of changes in the latest version of Lightroom for iOS:

What’s New in Version 2.2.0

• New: Full resolution output. Now, export and share photos that were captured on your device or that you added to your device at full resolution.
• Updated: 3D Touch support in the Camera Roll browser view. Quickly preview your image with Peek & Pop when browsing Camera Roll photos in the app.
• Fixed: Issue that lead to a potential crash.
• Improved: Various bugs and issues.

Adobe’s Lightroom 2.2 for iOS is available for iPhone and iPad through the App Store. Adobe also recently shipped Lightroom 2.0 for Android, which includes RAW image shooting not yet possible on iOS.

Adobe has also updated Photoshop Sketch, which is one of my favorite iPad Pro apps to use with the Apple Pencil, to include iPhone support:

What’s New in Version 3.3

iPHONE SUPPORT
Adobe Sketch now runs on iPhone, and includes the following features
• Touch Slide support. Draw perfect straight lines and beautiful geometric shapes. Then place and scale them with Touch Slide.
• Support for grids and guides. Just press the Settings icon and add grids.

You can now map shapes to a perspective plane. Select a shape, select a plane, and draw!

To rotate the canvas, press the Settings icon and select the Rotate option.

Without RAW support, I really can’t see how LR for iOS is even remotely useful for anyone.

Please Adobe, RAW import support. Whats the price for this feature? I’m ok if that requires to use specific Adobe Lightening-Camera Kit or what ever…
